Exotics_Builder Posted October 21, 2011 Posted October 21, 2011 (edited) Lindberg/Hawk still pretty much looks like reissue only. There was no one for me to talk to, but the only news was the reissue of their Chris Craft Constellation and a 1/16 scale hot rod. They showed both at last year’s show as well. IMC, in the automotive space is doing Jo-Han reissues, particularly the Olds Cutlass, Chrysler Turbine Car and 59 Rambler Wagon. They also are offering the plastic display case. There were also a few military models shown as well, but I passed on photographing them. Moebius had a bunch of Sci-Fi and monster kits, but the automotive front only showed a new Hudson Convertible. There seemed to be some reticence in confirming or denying anything else at the time I chatted with them. Thanks, Gerry This way to the photo album: Edited October 21, 2011 by Exotics_Builder
Joe Handley Posted October 21, 2011 Posted October 21, 2011 Well, that Olds might make the Collinade Body crowd happy and that drop top Hudson looks gooooooooood too!
Rob Hall Posted October 21, 2011 Posted October 21, 2011 Wonder whatever happened to the 'Lawman' '64 Belvedere variation that Lindberg announced last year...a no go I guess.
jbwelda Posted October 21, 2011 Posted October 21, 2011 the last version of the chrysler turbine car i had had tons of flash on the small fiddley bits. whats the prospect for that to be cleaned up on this issue? i assume they are being struck from the same molds as back through time? is there anything new or unique about the 1/8 scale hot rod, or is it basically the same as has and is always available in one of ten variations? looks like the show was pretty jumpin even away from the revell table!

I think this is the simplified snap kit version of the turbine car, not the full detail. The full detail one I built in the '80s had some very thin pieces and lots of flash..
jbwelda Posted October 21, 2011 Posted October 21, 2011 > some very thin pieces and lots of flash.. exactly!
charlie8575 Posted October 21, 2011 Posted October 21, 2011 I WANT one of those Cutlasses! And I'll take a case of the new Sho-Cases, too! And a Hornet convertible to put in one of those cases... Wonder what else Moebius has up its sleeve? Charlie Larkin
Junkman Posted October 21, 2011 Posted October 21, 2011 Who built the box art models for IMC-Jo-Han???
Draggon Posted October 21, 2011 Posted October 21, 2011 Check out the "Bull Horn" Model T in 1/16th. Its one of the best proprtioned fad Tees out there. Ive been trolling ebay for a few years looking for one less than $50.
iBorg Posted October 21, 2011 Posted October 21, 2011 Actually getting rid of that horn and I agree the Bull Horn T offers some interesting possibilities. I'm curious to to detail. One of the frustrations of 1/16 scale is so many models offer such possibilities but fall short in the details. Mike

Here is the catalog info
Casey Posted October 21, 2011 Posted October 21, 2011 Fingers crossed the Bull Horn has a nice set of pie crust slicks.
