tiking Posted May 3, 2012 Posted May 3, 2012 Been working on this for a while. Not 100% complete but almost. Still got some dents to immitate on the cab and more weathering on the trailer chassi but all-in-all, is pretty much done.
tiking Posted May 3, 2012 Author Posted May 3, 2012 (edited) Thanks for looking guys. Driver made it out safely. Edited May 3, 2012 by tiking
Jim B Posted May 3, 2012 Posted May 3, 2012 Woops! Well, that one way to show off a detailed frame. Great execution.
Chillyb1 Posted May 4, 2012 Posted May 4, 2012 That is a very cool diorama indeed. Quite a lot of detail to take in, but it is wonderful to behold.
sports850 Posted May 4, 2012 Posted May 4, 2012 Looks great Charles , Just needs Lindsay Brothers decals (local truck company who had a very bad run a few years ago and became known as upside down trucking)
uncle potts Posted May 4, 2012 Posted May 4, 2012 where did you get your trees? They are the hardest part of an outdoor setting to replicate in 1/25th scale. I'm always looking for fresh ideas to improve my diorama's.Your trees look very realistic, and this tends to be a weak area in mine. Nicely done, very creative idea.
Chuck Most Posted May 4, 2012 Posted May 4, 2012 Very cool. One time when chassis detail is absolutely mandatory!
Foxer Posted May 4, 2012 Posted May 4, 2012 Very realistic ... shredded tires, damage and weathering. Poor thing feels like a turtle on it's back
cobraman Posted May 4, 2012 Posted May 4, 2012 Very unusual idea for a diorama. I don't think I ever saw another one like it. Good job. I like it.
tiking Posted May 4, 2012 Author Posted May 4, 2012 Looks great Charles , Just needs Lindsay Brothers decals (local truck company who had a very bad run a few years ago and became known as upside down trucking) Shame I did not know this at the time, I would probably done it. where did you get your trees? I'm always looking for fresh ideas to improve my diorama's.Your trees look very realistic, and this tends to be a weak area in mine. Nicely done, very creative idea. The trees and all vegetations are the real thing. I have always used what nature has to offer since I was building 1/35 scale armor. The trees are small branches broken of a bigger tree. The grass is moss and the rest are tree stems and whatever looks the part. I always choose particular ones because not all branches will look right. And not all moss will produce the same effect. A thousand thanks to everyone else who has replied. I do appreciate your comments.
KHamilton Posted May 4, 2012 Posted May 4, 2012 i REALLY like this! It's a very different way of presenting a truck model. It shows off the underside (something we don't see too often), it's extremely well done and it's very imaginative. Wonderful concept, beautifully done. Congratulations, Charles.
modelmarknz Posted May 4, 2012 Posted May 4, 2012 (edited) Wow ... now that`s one amazing diorama ,Great subject choice .... fantastic detailing , love the way you have done the blown tyre.. Edited May 4, 2012 by modelmarknz
Repstock Posted May 4, 2012 Posted May 4, 2012 Not only is it something I've never seen before, but it's well done. This would be one I'd love to see in person! Imagination meets ability!
Sixties Sam Posted May 5, 2012 Posted May 5, 2012 Great concept, and well done! The shredded front tire is a great touch! Maybe it blew out and caused the wreck! Sam
tiking Posted May 5, 2012 Author Posted May 5, 2012 Thanks guys. Sam, you are right. That was the reason for the accident. But the driver made it out 'ok'.
tiking Posted May 8, 2012 Author Posted May 8, 2012 Here is the the tractor unit before the accident:
GTMust Posted May 9, 2012 Posted May 9, 2012 WOW! A superb model... even before the "accident"........ Tony
