Drgon63 Posted July 20, 2012 Posted July 20, 2012 (edited) 1966 VW Karman Ghia Basically Box Stock Model with Wide Whites and trim rings Bronze with white interior ps.... Harry it's got Mirrors Edited July 20, 2012 by Drgon63
Harry P. Posted July 20, 2012 Posted July 20, 2012 ps.... Harry it's got Mirrors Yes, it does! Which makes it a much more realistic model than it would have been without them. Very nicely done. Not just the mirrors, the whole thing!
bbowser Posted July 20, 2012 Posted July 20, 2012 Pretty fancy paint for a VW ! Very nice clean build. I used to see these everywhere back in the day, now nowhere outside of a car show.
Fat Brian Posted July 20, 2012 Posted July 20, 2012 That's really nice, I want to do one of these one day. I always thought the Tamiya kit was curbside though?
Drgon63 Posted July 21, 2012 Author Posted July 21, 2012 I always thought the Tamiya kit was curbside though? Nope... it came with an engine.....i had always thought that also....
moparfarmer Posted July 21, 2012 Posted July 21, 2012 Very nice and "KILLER". That color just pops and sure makes it stand out. That super smooth clear doesn't hurt either. Very nicely done and super clean....I want one.....
Drgon63 Posted July 22, 2012 Author Posted July 22, 2012 Thanx guys for all the feedback... do appreciate the great comments
Grumpa Posted July 22, 2012 Posted July 22, 2012 Really nice build Tom. I love the color and the wide whites look great on this!
vaughn Posted July 22, 2012 Posted July 22, 2012 Real nice !! Use to drive one of those while in college. Not that color (did'nt have colors like that). Fun little car.
dimaxion Posted July 23, 2012 Posted July 23, 2012 Nice build . Ok , a repaint (Earl Schieb ; "Any Car , any color" [as long as it was their excuse for paint {IMHO}] . The tires had to be leftovers from prior to 1962 when the thin whiote walls came out and made the W/W's obsolete and extinct as Dodo Birds . Just right for a Penny Pincher of the day ! Well done model . Thanx ..
ningoth4 Posted January 20, 2013 Posted January 20, 2013 What was your source for the whitewalls you used?
