Eero Posted August 30, 2012 Posted August 30, 2012 I thought I had a topic about this model but I can't find it... This is a model about a 1:1 car that I owned years ago. After I sold it I built this model. I tried to create all details. I used AMT' 62 convertible as a base. Roof is from some old kit. About those orange things... Those are called vent window reflectors. If you check this link, you can see a photo about 1:1 thing. http://media.photobu...m/020310001.jpg I changed those to orange at my 1:1 car. At model I used simply clear thin tape and orange marker pen. The real thing:
Ron Hamilton Posted August 30, 2012 Posted August 30, 2012 (edited) Yeah Baby!!!!!! I had a beige one in high school, which I am going to build a model of, one of these days. Edited August 31, 2012 by Ron Hamilton
Monty Posted August 30, 2012 Posted August 30, 2012 Great stance, nice paint, accurate weathering and tons of other details including the improvised side window treatment - absolutely spectacular work. I would've never thought to use baby moons on a rocketbird, but obviously they work! Another talented builder to learn from...
peekay Posted August 30, 2012 Posted August 30, 2012 Very nice work! I'm got something very similar on the way. I'm using the 62 promo and have painted it in these same colours.
TooOld Posted August 30, 2012 Posted August 30, 2012 Absolutely Gorgeous ! ! It could pass for the real thing if you don't tell anyone !
Foxer Posted August 30, 2012 Posted August 30, 2012 (edited) This is the type of build I love .. something you owned! .. and you did a spectacular job on this! The engine compartment is especially well done. Edited August 30, 2012 by Foxer
Dr. Cranky Posted August 30, 2012 Posted August 30, 2012 Wow, talk about the perfect daily driver. Nice model indeed.
Agent G Posted August 30, 2012 Posted August 30, 2012 No, no freaking way that's a model! You shrunk the real car with Photoshop trickery! G
Renegade Posted August 30, 2012 Posted August 30, 2012 Very nice job. Great weathering on the engine bay.
John Goschke Posted August 30, 2012 Posted August 30, 2012 Very impressive! Nice work fitting that roof. Love all the little details, especially those vent window deflectors. Forgot all about those things; don't think I've ever seen them in scale before!
Shardik Posted August 30, 2012 Posted August 30, 2012 I'm confused.....Where are the pictures of the model?
Sixx Posted August 31, 2012 Posted August 31, 2012 I knew that was what I was talking about!!!! Beautiful build man!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
