...I had expected a little more for my money...

Over the last ten or twelve years I've muttered things like that too, after purchasing another one of our hobbies' magazines and barely getting half an hour's read out of it...

Had that exact feeling earlier this week.

scored a unbuilt Johan Dodge Challenger funny car on e-bay last night for $26.00 bucks with free shipping,   I did not think that was too bad  ?

You did great, my friend! I just remembered I have one in the Snakepit and have no immediate plans to build it, but it would take a LOT more than 26 frogs to get me to part with it.

Got the AMT rebox of the Lindberg '61 Impala along w/ a couple AMT white letter tire sets from Model Roundup today, along w/ an Aoshima Nissan President kit from an eBay seller in Hong Kong.

Not my usual model, but at £21.59 and free shipping, i just couldn't refuse...

Thanks, from the other side of the pond!  I've heard rumors for a long time that ITALERI was re-issuing the old ESCI Ford Transit Van. But experience has taught me to disbelieve most release rumors until I actually have the kit in my hands.

Your post confirms it and I just checked with some on-line vendors in the USA. They are still showing the Transit as a "future release" but it shouldn't be long now. I have 2 of the old ESCI Transits in the red-and-white "Canon" scheme, but will probably get the new release as well.

I agree with ya, Snake!!!!

Illuminating tools...specifically, a pack of 100 watt-equivalent LED bulbs to replace the slowly dimming compact fluorescent bulbs I had in the swing-arm lamps on the bench.

Quite a difference. Apparently, I'm not going blind after all.  B)

There was a kit of a bugeye Impreza... you just have to add the wagon part!

Trouble is, the wagon is a Hasegawa, and they're typically just a tad smaller than the listed 1:24 scale.

In a thrift store, found a REVELL '68 Corvette L-88 open but untouched. That one has the hardtop and convertible up-top.  The store also had a 1/24 MONOGRAM '87 Corvette convertible, the issue molded in Metalflake Blue.  I left that one on the shelf.  Just no interest, not even for parts.

First thing I'll be doing to it is fixing that taildragger stance all these '66 promos have.

It came today. A bit of Dremel work and a couple of plugs in the hole to move the rear axle down 3/32", and...

No more taildragger. A thorough washing and some flash removal helped too. Got a lead on the taillights as well...

I just received the Flintstone Porsche 550 Spyder kit as a gift. It is typically lacking in some areas of symmetry...as are many Flintstone products...and it's a slush-cast job, kinda rough.

SOME of the proportions and lines are fairly good, and some things are just flat wrong, like the tail tapering to a too-narrow dimension...instantly noticeable.

The kit also has some details molded in that I've NEVER seen on a 1:1 real OR kitcar version.

As I do have a 1:1 Beck 550 Spyder, I'll be beginning to correct this thing to match the real car over time.

Lotsa work, and time probably better spent working on the real one.   :D

I was pleasantly surprised when opening this as it is NOT a kerbside and has a nice V12!

The bad actor I always wanted but never got, while the other one has a twin turbo V8!

Have three of these now...

The bug is a repop of the Lindberg kit and slightly large....

Never had this a sprint car
