It's not a model, but this was so neat, I had to buy it. My Dad used to have these when I was a kid, but they have long since disappeared (turned into decorations for a school Christmas play, and then thrown out). I haven't decided if I will open it, or frame it for hanging above my workbench.IMG_0376.thumb.JPG.6354745b1b474a39c201b336c8158e0a.JPG

Went to Toy's and treasures  which is near Lima Oh. I got three cars from there for a steal of a deal @ $10.00 each!  the cars are: '74 Chevy Caprice, MPC annual '71 Charger and a '64 Pontiac Grand prix. The GP will be striped and repainted/built. Charger pending on restoring to stock and the '74 added to my Chevy collection. The Black/White Jo Han Pontiac is $35.00 ( I bought the 56 Pontiac last month).

Rick is that 71 Charger a pre painted body? I am thinking I have seen that mentioned hear before.

Yes it is. It's kinda rare built nicely like this one looks from the photo.

And Rick.. that Johan Pontiac you have marked as "Didn't Buy This Car"  is actually the one you shouldn't have left behind for $10.

Those are sweet too!.....I just got the same testarossa kit you have, and the Tamiya Ferrari Mythos .   I have the no,9 288 kit, it surprised me when I opened it......it has the largest photo-etch fret I have ever seen before.  I've actually tried to find another no.9 kit, but I guess its SUPER rare.

I got a squashed 50 Austin gasser. It was actually shipped in a decent box but somewhere in the postal service from America it has had excessive pressure exerted on the bottom of the package forcing the body upwards.

Nothing else in the box was  damaged and I'm hopeful I can get it back in to shape with hot water and manipulation.

Picked up a couple '50 Ford convertibles at HL plus some mold rubber (been casting a lot of rare wheels and hubcaps lately), also some Evergreen strip to make vinyl top seams on the Cooley High '64 Caddy.

No pictures, but got two Revell '57 Ford gasser Wagons, an AMT "Der Beetle Bus" , an AMT Man In Space Five Complete Nasa Rocket Kits, and a Monogram 1/32 Sherman M4A1 "Screamin" Mimi for $7.50 each. I've never seen kits marked down this low on the first go around.

Seriously, what's wrong here? Site was down for over an hour and it still won't let me edit posts. Anyway plans for the '50 convertibles are one full custom and one stock to re-create Barbara Stanwyck's car from the 1953 movie Jeopardy:

Later in the film it acquired some dents and bullet holes in the windshield after a chase with the Mexican police. I'm guessing it was light green from the way it looks in black and white.

Just got a '65 Falcon hood for my '64 Falcon - because in one of AMT's rare goofs, the '64 kit hood is missing the ridge that runs down the center. Funny thing is they got it right on the '64 promo...

Where did you find a '65 Falcon hood? Does someone have it in resin? I need one. Have a restorable glue bomb funny car that's only missing the hood.

eBay, from one of the usual sources. I ought to start casting all these parts I buy and reselling the originals!

That said, it's about time I tried a two-piece mold - let's see if I can do you a copy.

Quite some time ago, I bought a horrible gluebomb mess of this kit. No box, no instructions, no decals, and missing a few parts...but restorable. First issued in 1970 and again in '71, I haven't seen many since then, and all of 'em are expensive or trashed.

Since I had no instructions, I started researching the thing, and found an article in an old bike mag with lotsa pix of the model, starting on page 56.

After figuring out more-or-less what was long gone, I was able to snag a couple more junk Harley kits for the missing bits, and for the VERY important 21" front wheel the REAL Bronson bike had, but that the kit and most of the clones don't get right. The larger wheel (the kit has a 19" rim) really makes the look of the bike, far as I'm concerned...and in 1/8 scale, it's quite noticeable.

The build has been on the bench for about a week now, and has taken on a life of its own...much scratchbuilding, some machine work...and I've learned more about real bikes in the past week than I ever knew previously.
