MPC called that kit the V-Rod, but it had a Corvair engine.  I believe the original catalog info showed it with a VW engine, somewhere along the way it got changed.

After doing some research on the web, I want one. I’m hoping that maybe Round 2 still has the dies and might consider reissuing it.

Picked this one up at the local flea market today. The Skip’s Fiesta ‘60 Corvette was a nice kit, so I hope this one is too!

Just made a deal with a buddy for this 62 Unibody for $60. Missing the engine, wheels, taillights and hood side chrome. Can't wait to lay my hands on it!

That looks like a Corvair power plant, rather than VW.

Absolutely right - I guess the ‘V’ element is the rolling chassis, in this case.

VW-based early-Ford-looking hot rods are real thing though:

Pic 1.....Thrift store find.  Someone repainted a bunch of these Chrysler's as there was about a dozen of them but some were decent while others were their learning curve.  This one was by far one of the better ones......just needs polished

July swap meet

Love the old boats!  Leaving it as is

Grand Prix is a rebuilder.  Built but dismantled/stripped.

Was it from BMF directly?

Nope, last two were from the LHS.  I've tried ordering direct from BMF, but that didn't help.

Been thinking about picking this one up ever since Ertl issued it back in 1986 (36 years ago!?). Well, I finally got it. Ordered from a vendor on eBay Monday afternoon. Less than 48 later, the postal carrier has it on my front porch. Not bad.

While the main  US 127 Garage Sales start tomorrow there were some that started today. The AMT '59 Corvette (circa 1974) I paid $10.00 for along with the AMT '66 T-Bird which is also an earlier 1970's Issue. Then at a lot where there were several vendors I Bought  four "promo" type AMT Ertl Models. Black 1990's Chevrolet Blazer, Tahoe, Corvette, and extended Cab Ford F-150 for $1.00 each. The International pickup was found at another vendor at the same Location. I was surprised to find it, and for as cheap as it was $10.00 The Standard International Harvester Pickup Won't be up for trade Since I collect IH Trucks/scout's in Model form....

US 127 Garage sales  started today at the Van Wert Fair ground which had lots of vender's . I made one of the biggest scores there today! The two plastic containers cost me $100.00 But well worth the cost! The Plymouth Roadrunner/Dodge Monaco are going to a good Friend of mine. I have a lot of clean up work ahead of me not to mention what is complete and what will need parts to restore. The Billy Carter pickup is still factory sealed!

So i can build one of this, it is a Scania T Longline. I have only seen one of them out on the roads here and that was many years ago.

Probably build it with the engine from either the 62 Tbird or the 60 Starliner and do a mild custom by lowering it just a bit and either some 19 inch wheels or some tires and wheels from the Revell 32 Ford 3 window. Nothing extreme and I don't want to alter the kit. I always liked what Plowboy did with his a couple years ago.

I had so much fun, and liked the end results, of building my COBI Citroen 2CV Type AZ I got last weekend. That I had to go back to Brickmania and pick up COBI’s other two Citroen 2CVs. A Type A, and a Charleston. I hope. I’m sure, they’ll be as fun to build as the first one.
