I love a good auction when they phone in the effort on the pics.  No mention if complete and the pics showed the bad paint job as well as the remaining parts in the box.  I figured I would gamble on at least the body.  Came in the mail.....it's complete!  No tire burn on the glass, decent chrome!  Small chip on the tab of the hood but that is the only thing wrong.....

Round2 Customer service sent me the WRONG part for believe it or not the THIRD Time! For some reason they keep sending me Part #7 and  not Part #49 . I need part #49 which is the Driver side (LEFT) Frame rail, And not Part 7 which is the passenger side  Frame rail.

Got some needed missing parts for a couple of cars that were in the two tote's  that I Bought at the Garage sales . They came from a good friend of mine, and with his help It brought the 1/16 '57 Nomad back along with a older copy of a '59 El Camino. The nomad got : the stock tires/wheels, hood rockets, door handles, and the stock air breather.  The El Camino: got the complete rear suspension, tail light's and the engine,

Built one of thes kits 22 years ago Bruce, I have it in a AMT stackable case. I polished the plastic instead of painting the body..

That’s some nice kits Scott..

Thought I might try a cool early classic. Another adventure in building.

At lunch I stopped at an "Antique Mall" near my work.  Been there a couple times before, and have never even been tempted to buy anything.

Seemed like another waste of time, but I decided to go down one more row of vendor booths before I left. Wouldn't you know it, someone was selling a box of five built-up AMT sixties Ford kits: '61 Sunliner and '63, '66, '67, and '68 T-birds.

All are well-built, definitely too nice to call glue bombs.  Fortunately no custom parts on any, except the mags on the '61, which I don't mind.  That one has plastic pins on the chassis, not screws, so I'm suspecting it may be the late sixties reissue?  The '63 body is bare white styrene.

The only one that seems to have any missing parts is the '66, which also has a crunched windshield frame.  Frankly I could care less about that one since its still available as a reissue.  It just came along for the ride with the other four, since it was a set price for the whole box of five.  For the bunch I paid less than the cost of one typical new kit.

  • ranma changed the title to Bought two totes with model's in them at the US 127 Garage sales:: here's what was inside of them...

Some things that have showed up, here, over the last few days. Got the '32 in an auction, for pretty cheap. Good, since I didn't have one, anymore! I bought an Ultra-Thin Kerf Zona saw. Although I generally make my own, I was intrigued by the Eduard harness sets, so, I picked up a couple of them. They look pretty nice! Finally, I got 40 HO handrail stanchions. I use them for rod ends/heim joints. They look great, and are quite cost-effective!

Got these KA resin seats for the 1/12 GT 40 . From Singapore in under 2 weeks , not bad . Don’t really look like the photos I have seen or ones on box . Going to need a lot of work it looks like . Not sure they are worth what I paid for them but that’s on me .
