Ace-Garageguy Posted July 15, 2023 Posted July 15, 2023 (edited) More magic bits from Randy at Model Builder's Warehouse. First up, a 3D printed Hyabusa-based V8 by Overnite Model Garage, to go in a hot-rod Lotus 7. Yes, it's a model of a real engine, uses a bottom end machined from billet (or cast, depending on the specific engine manufacturer), a billet crank, and two Hyabusa heads. A printed Ford 427 "cammer", by Mad Mike. Truly a thing of beauty. A GT-40 Mk II engine and gearbox. Mad Mike 3D printed again And a blown SBC with a gearbox and headers, also by Mad Mike Besides having some of the trickest, highest quality models and parts, Model Builder's Warehouse customer service is the best I've ever encountered anywhere. Thanks Randy. Edited July 15, 2023 by Ace-Garageguy CLARITY and ACCURACY 5

Thanks Randy. Those are sweet. Very realistic looking. Should really dress up a build.?
Spottedlaurel Posted July 15, 2023 Posted July 15, 2023 Might be a bit more limited on here in the near future, due to an upcoming 1:1 car purchase. In the meantime: No immediate plans for this one, and there are far too many decals for me to do it as a box art replica. Maybe merge some of it with the road car, and use the leftovers for a Time Attack car? Realised this isn't much different to the AMT version I already have. I think it's attractive car and certainly has potential, will be interesting to try and realise that. In doing a search I was reminded of the very nice version that sadly departed MCM member Plowboy built: I can't immediately find the completed photos that Roger posted in the Under Glass section, but it looked excellent. 2

64SS350 Posted July 15, 2023 Posted July 15, 2023 The Audi came Thursday, the printed tires and paint today. Other parts shown were a bonus.
atomicholiday Posted July 16, 2023 Posted July 16, 2023 These two followed me home today. The corvette kit is one that I built when I first got back into the hobby, about twenty ish years ago. 1
OldNYJim Posted July 16, 2023 Posted July 16, 2023 Quick trip to the Lobby of Hobby today…I don’t need another Revell Beetle but for $9 it was following me home… Plus, I didn’t need superglue debonder particularly, but for a dollar that followed me home too ? 2
Dpate Posted July 16, 2023 Posted July 16, 2023 (edited) Picked up another one of these at Ollie’s. It’s no better than the first one with the left side being the worst. I’ll come up with an idea for the van, but least got more rims and dope tires. I outlined the issue i been talking about. That side molding it’s literally non existent on the door lol. I’m on the hunt for this one. I’ve hit every Ollie’s within about a hundred miles. Zilch. I did find it and a bunch of other current Ollie’s kits in a junk shop yesterday. But they marked them all up to $23. Just trying to make a quick buck.

When I went back today they still had a lot left, and still had few others along with the caddie surfing shark. I was really hoping the body would be better, but I’m probably just gonna sand down the molding on both sides all the way around when ever I decide to get around to building it.
ewetwo Posted July 16, 2023 Posted July 16, 2023 They kind of look like some of the kits some Walmarts have had.

ewetwo Posted July 17, 2023 Posted July 17, 2023 Even though I am stuck in a hotel in Boston until the end of the month. I have purchased a few kits 3
Modlbldr Posted July 17, 2023 Posted July 17, 2023 Picked this adjustable shelf up at a thrift store today for $40. Lots of paint storage for me!! Later- 5
iamsuperdan Posted July 18, 2023 Posted July 18, 2023 I'm convinced this whole model thing is actually two hobbies. The first, which I'm much better at, is acquiring kits and expanding the stash. The second is actually building and finishing kits. Anyway... Finally found this one locally. And snagged these too. 6 1

Collecting is definitely part of it. When I left 12-13 years ago, that's what I did. My wife (now) hated it...now she's like you HAVE to build not just collect. So I'm limiting myself as much as possible.
