At yesterday's club meeting, a past participant showed up with a collection he acquired in the late 90's.  The way he got them was the original owner had taken them out of the boxes, cut the parts from the trees and put them in Zip-Loc bags.  Downside is that you have no idea if all there just hoping it is.  Upside, he was giving them away FREE.  Just wanted to clear out some space.  Anyway, I chose these three.  I'll eventually inventory them but may not build them.  Just thought these were the most interesting to me.

All of those Tamiya kits are still very much sought after. A very good score even if they off their sprues and bagged.

We returned from our trip to Salt Lake City the other day. My wife had meetings to attend so I made my own fun while there. This is a store review plus a what did I get post.

MRS Hobbies, West Valley Hobby and Super Anime Store are in the area and I recommend them. MRS Hobbies is an old school shop crammed to the gills with kits and supplies of all types. I went a little crazy with the Aoshima kits and stocked up on Tamiya paints and even found a can of Model Master Dark Yellow. West Valley also has an amazing stock of supplies and kits. I found a lot of things I didn't know existed. Super Anime Store is more anime figure oriented but they did have a few kits like the Nissan Silvia. Anyway, if you're in the area give them a try.

Oh and the views were cool too, I guess. lol. We drove up Pike's Peak and went to South Park Colorado and rode an old time steam train. Can't complain!

Got my latest order from Mr Burns (Too Many Projects).

72 Mercury Montego Wagon and a 70-71 Montego 4-door.

Wagon is going to replicate mine before Paramount Studios did this:

Got my first promo in the most unexpected place ever, the Iowa State Fair. A pretty beat up 63 thunderbird, definitely some kids toy (adds character they tell me). The people had it listed for $40, no way is it worth that in this state. Told them they had it marked as a 65 and it was a 63, mentioned the broken a pillars, and the worn off chrome. All that got me this beaut for $20, not bad.20250811_182937.jpg.15918f7a568a8a0afd7e404d312eaad6.jpg

Yeah, I don't think im gonna restore it, way to much for what its worth. Now, I could potentially kitbash the body and interior with the amt 62 thunderbird.

I know this isn’t a car or truck, or bike, but just wanted to show everyone this juggernaut of a machine.  Just arrived from UPS from megahobby as they had it the cheapest @$215.  I love these 1/35 scale kits no matter the subject, because they’re just so detailed.

Neat resin trans kit, needs the Monogram 1958 Corvette doner.
