Carmak Posted September 3 Posted September 3 I found this gem at a local steam power show. Been looking for one for a long time. Additionally, I just saw the recent IPMS article so I will be reinforcing this beast with lots of brass rod. 8
The Junkman Posted September 4 Posted September 4 (edited) Brand new Hobby Lobby opened in town so I bought an unneeded AMT '67 Mustang Fastback kit (along with a Revell 1/72nd F-15E Strike Eagle). I REALLY didn't need them but I wanted the store management to look favorably at keeping kits in stock. Plus the 40% off didn't hurt. Edited September 4 by The Junkman 5

Yep, no doubt others have had the same idea. I dropped the body, so I do have more of the passenger side A-pillar, but that is a good idea on how to keep viewers distracted from however I tie that side of the roof back down. 2

Nothing wrong with making an early good-impression on a new LHS proprietor. 😉 A wise investment in your future. 3

Gonna be a big kit when it’s built I bet!

Thanks to OldNYJim for letting us know Michael's has them now. I’ll be interested to see what you think of this one - was considering picking up this one myself! 1

I like it. I would prefer the older full detail kit, but the body looks essentially the same as well as most of the interior. 1

The eyes can be so deceiving at times.. 🤣 Meanwhile...it looks like @64SS350 and I have similar tastes. I passed on the first one.. then was kicking myself for doing so. I didn't let the 2nd one get away.. Edited Sunday at 02:06 AM by SpeedAndViolence 5
Mark Posted Sunday at 02:35 PM Posted Sunday at 02:35 PM NNL Buffalo haul! I was set up there, didn't sell much but then again I didn't have much to sell. Parts include a few sets of glass (two Falcon funny car, '58 Impala, '62 Bel Air among others), couple of engines, Modelhaus '70 Chevy pickup grille/bumper, and some suspension parts. MPC 1/20 Altered is complete. Monogram Rolls is missing some small stuff but it is a first issue and the shiny black body parts are mint. I have another later one to rob the needed parts from. I don't know who did the resin Dart but it's quite nice. I figure one of the chrome paints will take care of the bumpers and grille. Sandkat is missing the engine but the chassis is all there. '66 Nova is missing tires/wheels and decal sheet. Mustang II is missing one front wheel. I was going to get some pro stock decals for it, but might actually go with an out-of-the-box build. Cyclone is missing traction bars, JJ Vega is missing tires and decals but the chassis/engine are intact. Not a bad day. 4
FoMoCo66 Posted Monday at 02:04 AM Posted Monday at 02:04 AM Got these from a local model car show. I bought the AMT 40 willys, the polar lights gas ronda 69 mustang, and the ARII ferrari bb 52 which is actually a complete tamiya ferrari f40 on the inside, all models I have been wanting to get for a long time. On the other hand, I bought 6 raffle tickets for $5 and 4 of them won. I am no means an airplane builder BUT... all they had at the table by the time I got there were airplane kits. Ended up grabbing a Hasagawa p51d mustang, a revell spitfire mk1, a AMT (matchbox) Curtiss sb2c-1 helldiver, and the last one I ended up giving to a family friend's kid. They attended the show just to see what it was all about, I probly won't ever build all of these kits so had to pass it down and let him pick one of the 4, it was some vietnam era US ARMY jet from fugimi. Oh and the Thunderbird SC coupe, my dad bought it for his college roommate who used to have one (the one bad thing is it smells like cigarettes 🤦♂️). 2
Donny Posted Monday at 03:19 AM Posted Monday at 03:19 AM This arrived today, to add to the ever growing stash. This hobby is too Additive, I've only been back a couple of months and I've got this lot, 15 I think and a couple more on the way. Included aa pic of my other collection, I have a few bigger ones, and about 120 Matchbox cars, so I'm not knew to collecting, just took a break from building - 60 years 😂 Matchbox number about 150 . I'm a sucker for anything "model" 3
Cool Hand Posted Monday at 06:03 AM Posted Monday at 06:03 AM These arrived from Japan today, absolutely amazing model car magazines. Some of the best content I have ever seen. 3

I have worked in sales in a couple of Toyota Dealerships when this body style Supra and Celiacs where popular. The bottom picture was a stock option and very popular at the time. I never mile'd out any of those as demos. I used to take trade-ins with door rash and two-tone the sides like the top picture and that also was popular with customers and less expensive than trying to color match the side touch ups. 1
JerseeJerry55 Posted Tuesday at 06:29 PM Posted Tuesday at 06:29 PM Received today in a trade with Old Buckaroo. The AMT Ford Police Interceptor, and the sealed Monogram Dale Earnhardt 1990 Goodwrench Lumina. As a fan of the State Trooper sedans in the Smokey and The Bandit, and also Convoy I find them a good basis for the Police Interceptor. The Lumina will either stay as the box cover, or maybe a days of Thunder example (Mr. Burns) racer. Anybody have any interwebs sources for the Trooper unit? Lumina 1
A modeler named mike Posted Wednesday at 11:35 PM Posted Wednesday at 11:35 PM I picked up some Evergreen styrene,Tamiya extra thin cement, Faller's super-expert plastic glue and an assortment of different grit sanding sticks at Hobbytown today. I also scored these two kits from ebay this week, cheap. 1
