2000-cvpi Posted January 16, 2013 Posted January 16, 2013 I got this book from Barnes and Noble today. It's a great reference for a lot of Mopar kits.
cobraman Posted January 17, 2013 Posted January 17, 2013 Got these in the mail today from ebay. Another Cobra for the Cobra collection. And the Cougar ll model kit. I have some plans for the Cougar kit, afterall it was built on a Cobra chassis. I built this kit or I should say tried to build this kit many, many years ago when it first came out. I think it was an IMC kit back then. I recall it was a tough build and did not turn out too good. Maybe I will have better luck with it this time around. We shall see.
TooOld Posted January 17, 2013 Posted January 17, 2013 That 9" Ford rear looks pretty nice ! Never heard of Futurattraction before but I'm gong to check them out .
Danno Posted January 17, 2013 Posted January 17, 2013 Isn't Futurattraction a member here? Is it the same person?

Danno Posted January 17, 2013 Posted January 17, 2013 Isn't Futurattraction a member here? Is it the same person? Okay ... so, after posting the above, I did what I do best ... some investigating ... (which I probably should have done first) ... Indeed, Futurattraction the resin caster and photoetcher is one and the same as futurattraction the forum member/poster. Check out www.futurattraction.com Mystery solved. LOL.

Deathgoblin Posted January 19, 2013 Posted January 19, 2013 Finally met up with my Dad and Step Mom. We had to miss Christmas with them because of health issues on their part. Health issues are still going on and Dad's in the hospital, but he's much closer to home right now. We had a good time in his room and got to trade presents. I got the Revell 50 Olds and 57 Ford, plus a 69 Camaro SS 427 L-72 and the AMT 67 GTO. Now I just gotta make sure Dad heals up okay.
martinfan5 Posted January 19, 2013 Posted January 19, 2013 (edited) Got these tonight at Michaels, one is for me, one is for my clubs auction , can you guess which kit is mine ? Edited January 19, 2013 by martinfan5
martinfan5 Posted January 19, 2013 Posted January 19, 2013 Has to be the........ Audi R8 Good guess, but I might just have to get a 32 for my self
hooknladderno1 Posted January 19, 2013 Posted January 19, 2013 While it didn't all come today, in the past week or so, I have gotten a lot of stuff that I have wanted for a while. Finally had time to assemble and use it. First is the Proxxon rotary tool. Man, is it smooth AND quiet! I also purchased the drill stand, small parts vise, AND X-Y table. Their "instructions" or lack there of, leave a lot to be desired, but if they work anything like the rotary tool, I will be very happy!!! I also recently picked up a can of duPont acrylic door jamb clear coat as mentioned in Dr. Cranky's video. I can see why he is sooooo fond of it. It goes on like a dream. Tried it on some test spoons, have to wait for them to gas out. I am still working out the issues with painting in the humid Florida weather. Gloss paints come out dull. I am hopeful that once cured, that I can polish them to a nice shine...
mikemodeler Posted January 19, 2013 Posted January 19, 2013 Went to the SCMA "Hope it doesn't snow" show and swap meet today. Got some inspiration and a couple of models- an MPC 4x4 Ford Van and a Revell 64 Chevy pickup. Mailman is supposed to deliver some Gofer decals I ordered from Modelroundup today and that should keep me busy for awhile!

Guest Johnny Posted January 19, 2013 Posted January 19, 2013 David that's called "blushing" when paints that are supposed to be glossy come out flat. Check your a/c unit to see if it has a de-humidifier function or you can get a de-humidifier for around $50 at home depot. Seen that happen when a weather front came through while we were painting a 76 Cougar XR7 years ago.(1:1) Humidity came in so bad it was hard to breathe outside at 9:30PM! Bright red car and put down a perfect paint job. Next morning when we walked into the shop the lower third of the car was flat PINK!!!
Nick Winter Posted January 19, 2013 Posted January 19, 2013 Got the plastic last week in trade with a friend. Dumped off the tires yesterday (got the time to do it), Got the Rims (I still have to get the other 4 off the '64 Chrysler 300 there on) and the Exhaust manifolds today. and yes the rubber is old. Tom Geiger Posted January 19, 2013 Posted January 19, 2013 Richard, that Heller Mercedes is very cool! I have yet to see one close enough to buy it! I also like the Heller Citroen truck series. I believe I have one of each of those.
Lownslow Posted January 20, 2013 Posted January 20, 2013 from ebay and the with the commision from drawing and producing this wheel i bought this

crazyrichard Posted January 20, 2013 Posted January 20, 2013 Richard, that Heller Mercedes is very cool! I have yet to see one close enough to buy it! I also like the Heller Citroen truck series. I believe I have one of each of those. well i can tell you it looks great , the shapes are awsome ... one thing i think it really needs is wider wheel wells in the back because the front ones are wider then the rear arches not a whole lot of parts in teh kit but it all looks great , perfect base for a unique build so if you see one you can safely buy it and the trucks you mentioned are the ones i still want to buy in the future i know what you mean
