GeeBee Posted February 25, 2013 Posted February 25, 2013 That is neat Geoff, so much for not buying anything off of Ebay for awhile huh? Tell me about it !! that's the New Years resolution gone out of the window .....
atenzapower Posted February 25, 2013 Posted February 25, 2013 Bought this one at the show last weekend, Revell snaptite, tis just to cool
GeeBee Posted February 25, 2013 Posted February 25, 2013 Another one ...... I think I'll do a little more detail work when I build this one ....
Exotics_Builder Posted February 25, 2013 Posted February 25, 2013 The AMT 57 TBird has all the custom parts and decent chrome and I got it at a good price. The two resin customs were done by RMR and are very good quality. The Tbird version is an “interpretation” of the Italien custom car. I’m debating whether to replicate that or do a unique custom. Bob’s paints had several new colors there that I decided would look good at some upcoming builds. The Brandywine may see itself on the RoG Ferrari SA Aperta rather than use a Ferrari color. Ferrari’s can be custom painted and I think the Aperta can benefit from this color. However, there is still time to make another color choice.
jrherald420 Posted February 25, 2013 Posted February 25, 2013 I didn't know Michaels would let you use a coupon on clearanced items.
Tom Geiger Posted February 25, 2013 Posted February 25, 2013 I went into Michaels this past week with both a 50% and a 40% off coupon. I don't really need any more kits, but I look anyway. I could use a second '50 Olds but they didn't have any. All the kits marked "Clearance" on the shelf were cleaned out so someone around here is buying models. When that happens I buy one supply item like a bottle of Zap-a-gap glue or this week, Testors Dullcote at half price. I saw a lady buying a $50 cutting board for scrap booking, so I gave her the 40% off coupon. She was very happy. Kinda made my day to do that.
Chas SCR Posted February 25, 2013 Posted February 25, 2013 Thats cool Tom, some Michaels will let you James and also you can some times double up and use the Hobby Lobby one with your Michaels if you have a nice person waiting on ya.
lanesteele240 Posted February 26, 2013 Posted February 26, 2013 Way smaller than i thought it would be.
Erik Smith Posted February 26, 2013 Posted February 26, 2013 This one of those kits that I always wanted but not enough to pay big money for...but, excessive eBay trolling paid off... A very nice box and it's all there!
martinfan5 Posted February 26, 2013 Posted February 26, 2013 Way smaller than i thought it would be. I have this once I think, thats is cool, what scale is it?, I cant wait to see it built
lanesteele240 Posted February 26, 2013 Posted February 26, 2013 It is 1/20. I thought it was1/12. I just kept thinking of all the stuff i could do to it. It is so tiny i will just go box stock
crazyjim Posted February 26, 2013 Posted February 26, 2013 What's with the ignition wire from England, Joshua? They make something special?
Rob Hall Posted February 26, 2013 Posted February 26, 2013 (edited) What's with the ignition wire from England, Joshua? They make something special? Maybe it's a replica of Lucas wiring, but does it have in-scale wiring smoke? http://www3.telus.net/bc_triumph_registry/smoke.htm Pretty funny reading on Lucas wiring...http://www.peizhang.com/forfun/forfun_writings_smoke.htm Edited February 26, 2013 by Rob Hall
Kaleb Posted February 26, 2013 Posted February 26, 2013 It's actually for Xbox play station modding. Aka kynar wire
crazyjim Posted February 26, 2013 Posted February 26, 2013 Kynar wire. Good stuff. I get mine from Ping Fong on ebay. It's much cheaper than the model car aftermarket places.
Kaleb Posted February 26, 2013 Posted February 26, 2013 That's why I got these. They were the cheapest I found. Plus I get ten meters, and they allowed me to divide the color up. 2 meters apiece except the blue and red at 1 meter
bandit1 Posted February 26, 2013 Posted February 26, 2013 Not today...but i did get the replacement tires for my snap pete kit!...wow they are reallllyyyyy niceee!!!!... also got my order in for the one number 18 decal (stars on passenger side hood) in but they ended up sending me a whole new sheet even though i just asked for that decal?...WAY TO GO REVELL!...WHY DO I NEED ANOTHER SHEET JUST FOR ONE DECAL??
jrherald420 Posted February 26, 2013 Posted February 26, 2013 .WAY TO GO REVELL!...WHY DO I NEED ANOTHER SHEET JUST FOR ONE DECAL?? Same reason they will send a whole parts tree for 1 or 2 small parts.
Kaleb Posted February 26, 2013 Posted February 26, 2013 I never got a whole parts tree. I only got the parts I needed.
jrherald420 Posted February 26, 2013 Posted February 26, 2013 I've got the whole chrome tree for one bad part twice, one cracked windshield got me all the glass and headlights and a busted windshield pillar got a new body and hood. Guess its hit and miss.
niteowl7710 Posted February 26, 2013 Posted February 26, 2013 Not today...but i did get the replacement tires for my snap pete kit!...wow they are reallllyyyyy niceee!!!!... also got my order in for the one number 18 decal (stars on passenger side hood) in but they ended up sending me a whole new sheet even though i just asked for that decal?...WAY TO GO REVELL!...WHY DO I NEED ANOTHER SHEET JUST FOR ONE DECAL?? Well I suspect having a decal sheet with just one decal missing off of it, in hope it could be chopped apart to fill potential replacement orders in the future is just as "wasteful" as sending you an entire new sheet.
Draggon Posted February 26, 2013 Posted February 26, 2013 The Lucas comments were pretty funny, but I have to tell you, my wife had a Spitfire, and its all true. I bought a second Spitfire just to keep the first one running.
JamesW Posted February 27, 2013 Posted February 27, 2013 Nothing model related, but my new brakes for the 1:1 came in today.
