After a long wait(well worth it imo) finally received my order from Replica and Miniatures of Maryland. Between the Canadian postal strike and the backlog that Norm had going it took awhile to finally receive it. Also received a Hubley 1960 station wagon, it has some warpage but is in great condition for its age. Honorable mention (no pics as it’s still boxed) for the bulk load of Revell 1932 fords I got as well, new roadster, Fink speedwagon, 2x 3 window coupes and a og issue sedan. It was a merry Christmas for me as it all arrived on Christmas Eve.

Special thanks to @chris chabre for being a great friend and harbouring all this loot and reshipping for me.

Bill - That is a nice Christmas haul!

Back in my early 20's I worked at a body shop and the owner always wore T-shirts that said "Flatheads Forever" he had one for every day of the week.  Everyone referred to the place as "ole Flatheads" even though the name was Terry's Bodyshop.

Got these from my oldest son.

He and his girl love flea markets and scored these sealed kits for 5 bucks for both!

One has the golden wheels cut out of the box but still sealed!

Don't know what I will do with them yet.

I didn't go too crazy with car models this Christmas, 'cause i went crazy with train stuff instead.

Still, these showed up under the tree:

image.jpeg.569745f5c2ee57d095bab9ebc027f5ef.jpeg    image.jpeg.1d3ce8b23d810990f37bac0f6c96db30.jpeg

I had nice restorable builtups of the '59 Imperial and F-100, but just felt like getting new kits. I hadn't realized the Ford pickup was a "new tool" (assumed it was just another repop), so that made me happy when I opened it, but left me disappointed by the blobular chassis.

The Blazer is a parts donor to convert a nice 4-dr promo I got earlier into a full-detail model.

The '32 Imperial was purchased specifically to use as a starting point for building a '33 Plymouth coupe powered by a gen-one Chrysler Hemi, like a real one I built some years back. Between the old 1/24 Monogram '34 Ford and the Imperial, I should be able to scratchbash something pretty close.

EDIT: The '33-34 Plymouth is a slightly larger car than the same year Ford. We had a '34 Ford in the shop the same time as the '33 Plymouth, and I was able to compare them visually and collect body measurements from both of them...hence the reason for starting with the larger 1/25 Imperial and the 1/24 Monogram '34 Ford bodies.

New meng kit. These bikes are so detailed it’s insane.  2nd BMW kit I got from meng, and definitely need more. Packaging was great as well from seller in Hong Kong.

I received a monetary gift from a family member and turned it into these. I've heard from a couple of good sources that the Olds production has been stopped for now, so I bought two. I also finally managed to get the new tool Mach 1, even though I did manage to get the 007 version from Revell a while back.

Rumor has it that the Revell 56 F-100 chassis will fit under the 60 F-100 for a little more detail...

Yeah, but there are a lot of differences between the years. I'm most likely going to de-blobularize the kit chassis, as it's not really all that hard...

Unfortunately, the issue I'm seeing at the moment is that the kit chassis appears to be more correct for '61-'63 "unibody" trucks.

The floor is continuous, which would not be the case with a truck having a separate bed.

Seems odd to go to all the trouble of doing a new tool, and making such a big oopsie.

Musta been researched by Googlie's AI.

EDIT: I also have most of the fairly recent Moebius Ford trucks as well, so coming up with a chassis I can live with won't be a problem. Just more work, more time, more expense.

Yup. It's artificial stupidity, or at best intellectual mediocrity, so far.

This build was based on an original issue, but the AMT 53 Ford kit's frame and bed work well with the 60 Ford kit.

Since the onset of Covid, my local model group has mostly been using ZOOM to stay in touch. Occasionally we meet up in person at a local hobby shop (Dailey Hobbies). December 21st was just such a meet-up. A friend had recommended purchasing Mr Hobby paints from the GX line, but I didn't at the time. Instead I purchased two F-1 kits. I bought the Fujimi 1/20 Tyrrell P34. I want to see how it compares to the Tamiya kit. I also bought the Fujimi 1/20 Brabham BT-46 (fan car) Prototype. This was such an outrageous design in F-1 terms, that it was almost immediately banned. I like outrageous! LOL  Canada's tax holiday was in effect, so both were purchased without the 13% HS Tax being applied! Hooray

Since yesterday was Boxing Day, I went back to see what might be on sale. I bought the Hasegawa FROM_A Porsche 962C, because you can't have too many of this racer! I bought the Hasegawa 1/20 F-1 Lotus 79, because Hasegawa only briefly entered the 1/20 F-1 game. Their Ferrari F-1 kits are excellent. I rounded it off with another 1/20 F-1, Lotus 91 by EBBRO. With EBBRO no longer in business, it won't be long before all of their product is no longer on any retail shelves.

Yesterday I did finally purchase some bottles from the Mr Color GX line. The paints are named "Mr Metal _______ ". When you look at the pigment on the bottom of each bottle, there is a subtle metallic sheen present.
