  3. Chevrolet ILMOR Indy engine.
  4. The car show display set, stanchions, mirrors, trophies etc.

Today in the mail, I got Missing Link's '65 Buick Wildcat resin. The first time for me ordering from them. Opening the box, I was very please with what I found. A nice looking resin, that looks like it will take very little prep to build into a nice model. I especially like the chrome parts. I hate buying a resin kit were I need to send parts out to be chromed. No problems there with Missing Link's '65 Wildcat. The parts that need to be chrome, are already chromed and nicely done.

Shipping was fast. And the price was reasonable. What more can one ask for?

From gardnerpag44, a '55 Nomad tailgate - so a parts car is now a builder - thanks!

And from eBay, a Monogram NASCAR T-bird engine; the headers will be adapted to fit the SOHC for the '58 Ford.

I hope I did the right thing, but I just got an AMT 57 Chevy kit in the mail.  This is the new one with photo-etch, wiring and more.  Has 160 parts, and the box is much larger than the normal kit.  Time will tell.

You'll probably like it.  It also has an opening trunk with a spare tire.  Some people have taken the photo-etch grille and used it on the REVELL '57 2-door sedan kit.  Apparently it just drops right in.  I just recently picked up the latest Cindy Lewis re-issue of this one.

When that kit was first released some years ago, I remember reading that the Kats at AMT/ERTL expected it to banish forever all memories of their first '57 Chevy kit, circa 1962. Which is pretty funny, since they've re-issued that original ancient kit several times since.  I guess the new '57 didn't sell as well as expected. But I'll leave it to those with insider information to tell us about that.

Got a few new kits over the last week--from Model Roundup, the Moebius '65 Satellite Melrose Missile, 2 of the Revell '83 Hurst/Olds kits, and from Hobby Link Japan the Hasegawa Honda N360, Belkits Ford Escort rally car, and Aoshima Lamborghini Sisto Elemento..

Got this in the mail today. Unfortunately, the person who shipped it left everything loose in the box and the windshield and vent windows got broken off (looks like 4 pieces). I will have to set it aside until I feel confident enough to try and fix it. I will probably never find another one for as cheap as I got this one, so it isn't worth shipping back. Looks to be complete with only a few pieces started. It still has the instructions and decals.

Sorry, nothing that new!  I think the newest item in the whole bunch is the body of an AMT 62 Impala convert. I spent a couple hours in front of the TV, sorting and bagging all those interior parts.

Speaking of the original AMT 62 Chevy - just for fun, I took some parts from the newer 62 Chevy, released in the 1990s, and they seem to fit almost perfectly!  The hood, grille, rear bumper, windshield.  Even the chassis looks like it will fit without much trouble.  I thought that was interesting.

Stopped at my LHS after work.  Had a bunch of new Round 2 stuff, plus they finally had the Moebius Belevedere sedan.  Was really looking forward to getting that one, but decided I'd better pass considering the panel line issues and the widespread warpage people are finding in that one.  Decided to come home with the AMT '65 Grand Prix, since that's one I'd missed during previous reissues.

I find normally find windshield pillars a easy fix on any model that has on been painted yet. A good liquid cement, like Tamiya's and everything is good. The right cement welds styrene parts together quite well.

Very cool kit by the way. Despite the broken windshield frame, a very nice find.

I went to the MidAtlantic NNL in Maryland yesterday and was surprised to see this one for sale. I had been looking for it so I was glad to grab it up for $40. My initial glance at the contents is that it's a really nice kit, complete with a very detailed chassis with the unique 2CV suspension set up. I learned all about that from Wheeler Dealers when they restored a sedan.  One of those kits that you just want to dig into and start building!

Went to the local Hobbytown which i can't stand in search of a specific paint which they no longer carry and found this on the clearance shelf.

If you have the broken pieces, it'll be an easier fix than you think.

If you have the broken pieces and don't want to fix it, pm me I would be interested in it

Went to the NNL North model car show today. Had a great time and picked up a spare AMT '66 Wildcat for my Missing Link '65 Wildcat resin I got in the mail two days ago.

You quoted me? It's not my model we're talking about here. By the way, I see I made a mistake in that quote. It should read, "on any model that has not been painted yet." Rather than, "on any model that has on been painted yet." So, I guess I'm glad your quoting me. As that gives me a chance to clear that up.

Set of '59 Mercury open wheels and axles, which will get my '59 Edsel 'vert rolling again (same parts) but got outbid on a set of '58 Imperial wheels

Good to see you too Ron!  I was surprised to see someone selling this kit since it's pretty new and not imported to the US.

I think the interior in the 66 is actually a 65 interior. They never changed it.

A couple of weeks ago I bought my grandson the Revell fire truck snapper and a Surfite as a fun build.

Haven't told the wife about this; a Monogram '55 Chevy convertible and AMT '75 Gremlin.  I intended to order the '57 to make into a NASCAR convertible racer.  Jack has agreed to make the exchange.  The Gremlin is going to be built as a '74 which was our first new car.
