I use Amazon music for listening to music I'm my car and while at my bench, usually I just pull up the playlist of songs they recommend to me off of the songs I listen to. A couple days ago it started playing Spanish covers on random songs and Japanese techno music, NOT my 60s surfers rock, 50s rock and roll, and 60s British invasion rock. In now have to hunt down why this is happening and possibly a new playlist.

Santa Esmeralda maybe, they cover 60's, 70's music.

The rain that wasn't supposed to be here until early tomorrow stopped for a while while I went to get more tarps for the roof, but no sooner was I back up there, it started again.

S'okay though, 'cause the battery in the screwgun went dead just as I got the corners staked on the last one, so while it was charging I cleaned the gutter in the imaginary rain.

Soooooo...I'm pretty well soaked with liquid sunshine, fixin' to get back up there in a few as soon as the current downpour eases up and the battery is charged.

Gots to nail down the edges of the tarps before the wall of rain that's coming on radar but wasn't supposed to be here until tomorrow morning gets here.

Kinda miffed, 'cause everything up there was pretty dry, and I'd intended to do a very thorough job of tarping TODAY to get me through the winter.

No dice.

Fun day.  B)

Although I still check the chances for rain, I gave up on depending on the weather forecast to map my day out. They've been inaccurate too many times. You have a better chance of catching a fart in a butterfly net..

Hope you getter done and are leakless.

Anyone see the meme of highway construction workers pointing, and saying we need to start another project there?  Prescott's main highway is getting a revamp, then the intersecting road that *could* be a detour is too, then the other highway into town is getting repaved.  There is one light that is cycling stupid today, the same amount of short time for the highway, then the side road with Lowes and a church, so it took 4 light cycles for me to get through.  I know that's normal for Las Vegas, but not here.  ADOT has some stupid workers setting the timing on the lights, no wonder people run red lights so much.  I always talk about the stupid "smart light" where I have to U-turn all the time.  First World problem, I could move and be the growth there.

Didn't realize I had a huge colony of yellow jackets living under a trash can, comb and all.

I rarely use the can, as I take a bag or two at a time to one of the shops' dumpsters.

Sooooo...I figgered I'd clean 'em all out prior to the big pre-Thanksgiving tidy-up in the house, fill 'em and take a big load in the old GMC.

Got stung several times before I realized what was happening, then soaked down the entrance with Hilco Lube.

Left for a few hours, came back when it was raining, moved the can off the nest and soaked it as well.

Activity is way down now but there are still a few visiting the nest, so soaking it again in oil just before I leave is the next thing.

First time in over 12 years I've had paper wasp and yellow jacket nests at this place...and a whole lot of big garden spiders (that I usually leave alone to eat the pest bugs).

Only bad sting reaction is my right calf, and it's swollen considerably, itches like the absolute devil. Never had that happen before either.

Man, I feel for you when you said you got stung several times before you knew what was happening. That sucks.

Strange thing the last couple of years that I haven't seen much in the way of yellow jackets around here and I'm fine with that. Haven't seen the mud dauber wasps either. I don't mind them as they aren't aggressive but they kind of make a mess.

Hate spiders but I leave them alone in my yard. In the house, they get killed. My house!

My boss has been buying cars and antiques from an auction house out here in the CA high desert; they've been reliable and trustworthy up until this past week.

He bid on and won a nice 1921 Dodge touring for a pretty cheap price, and I noticed it had no license plates. I looked through the rest of the upcoming lots and there were a bunch of vintage plates listed, but none from '21 . Then I spotted a set of Horseless Carriage plates that looked like they would be correct, last stickered in 1997, and I started smelling a rat. Sure enough, when I checked the Dodge's serial number against the plate number, I found they were for that car, so I called the auction house immediately. I told them what had happened, and politely asked if they would pull the listing as it was obviously a mistake, and the supervisor said no. What the hell? I ended up having to bid $250 to get the plates for my boss and he was furious. When we went to pick up the car and the plates, the title clearly showed the license number. They still wouldn't budge. Later one of the yard workers let it slip that we weren't the only ones who complained - apparently several vintage cars there had their plates pulled off and sold - a friend of mine bought a couple sets and the guy who bought the car one set came from had to buy them back from my friend. I think the DMV would like to hear about this, as CA plates are supposed to stay with the car they're registered to...

You might want to share this information with the California DMV. You are correct about the plates assigned to the car in California. They are supposed to stay with the vehicle when it is sold within the state. Should the vehicle be sold to an out of state buyer things may be a little different. The DMV tries to keep a close watch on any dealers who are licensed within the state, and they can get pretty excited if a dealer doesn't follow their rules.

So far no real irks, but the Blazer is trying to run a little hot. I knew I'd have to replace the radiator and water pump, but thought I'd be able to get her through the winter at least.

It's always something. :)

Ain't that the truth!

Kinda brings me to a irk I had come my way caused by another. I received a phone call yesterday from a cell number I didn't recognize. Since there's so much going on in the family at the time being I figured I best answer it. As soon as I heard "Hello, this is officer so and so from the Carroll Country Sheriff's dept." my heart sunk. Apparently my 71 yr. old brother was drinking, while taking prescribed pain killers (which he knows better) and failed to slow down to make the turn into the development before ours, taking out the street and stop sign then proceeded to run through a portion of that neighbors yard and continued to just go home. When I got to the house the garage door was up and the officer told me that my brother wouldn't answer the door. After alerting my brother of the situation, he went out and they did a field sobriety test. Needless to say he went for a ride to central booking. Funny thing about this is there was at leat 15 witnesses that was at a family gathering, thankfully across the street and out of harms way. What irks me most about this is not only does the fact that my brother knows better but decided to do it anyway and that he was released after being charged and no bail.. IMO he should have spent the night in jail.. if there was bail, i'd I've left his carcass there!

Was the "For Sale " sign before or after the front end damage??

It was a before thought. I think it's gonna be way cheaper now, gotta pay for that attorney somehow and it won't be out of my pocket! That's for sure..

UPS Or USPS? Looks like some white paint left on the car. Maybe you'll find another  used one just like  what it was before the loss.....

You're going to need a good attorney. These pictures will help them point out to the other insurance company what it is they are going to have to replace not to mention your emotional pain and suffering. I don't advocate trying to sue for personal gain, but you do need to be made whole again.

Looks like a pretty hard hit, glad you are ok. What a shame that was a pretty cool ride you had there.

Really saddens me to see that car destroyed.

They're one of the truly great cars of the era, and there are fewer and fewer every day.

A low-miles metallic blue creampuff I had (waiting for an engine) mysteriously disappeared while I was moving out of a place of employment...as did the 4-cam engine that was to go in it.

Hollyweird probably eliminated more of them than any other car to ever grace the silver screen.

I hope they give you what it was actually worth to replace, and don't try to force the old standard lowball routine.

Stated-value coverage on something like that would be a wise path to follow if you get another one.
