9mm Beretta (silenced of course, with a flash suppressor).

"An armed society is a polite society"

No guns allowed in the movie theater. Probably for that reason. : )

Yeah, right. You mean . . . "No law-abiding citizens allowed to carry their guns into the theatre." All the bad guys have theirs and no sign scares them away.

Started a trade couple weeks ago with a member. Went to Fedex 2 Fridays ago paid $50 to ship package to him. He lives in another country. Message him give him tracking number. He says great, he will send mine out last monday. Well Monday goes by no word then on Wednesday fedex says address for him dose not exsit. I pm him multiple times no answer. I can see he is reading messages. Then Friday pm and say hey I am going to cancel delivery. And guess what finally get message. Saying he called fedex and fixed address issue. And my package still has not gone out. I looked him up on the good trader thread and others had no issues. I understand things happen people get busy.but to not pm and say something is messed up. I am still hoping he mails it today but still no word form him about it. I guess this will be my last trade, unless I get things first. now I might he out $50 shipping and $100 worth of kits. Not like I can drive to another country and get my stuff. Some people just suck.

gummy bears...throw gummy bears!

A bit of trivia that Americans may not know... First off, they are actually called GUMMI BEARS, the Americans changed it for import (don't we always Americanize everything?) Gummi means rubber in German...

Next, Lick the back of a Gummi Bear and toss it straight up at the ceiling. It should stick! We did that as kids in Germany and the ceilings at school were covered with them... and occasionally one would fall down during class to a burst of laughter.

So go have some fun!

What irked me tonight was drivin' home from a "cruise night" and the car in front of me wouldn't turn left when able to and we had to sit through another light. Then the light changes again and he needs a "beep" before he begins to turn. Then someone else is "lollygagging" and having trouble doing 30mph in a 35 mph zone, and "rush hour" has been over for awhile. Are a lot of these drivers MORONS or what?

What irked me today? The continuing plague of current political advertising by so many liars in every party that it's impossible to choose who to vote against.

my rule is believe half of what they say and none of what you hear

My beef of the day... My schedule was to work from home today. Boss emailed me yesterday that he wanted to meet. My Caravan is in the shop so I drive ancient Geo Tracker all the way to NJ. I get here and find out he called in sick! So I drove three hr round trip for nothing!

What "irked me today" is that colder weather is comin' to the Midwest. I really think that we should have another month of "fair weather" and one month less of winter weather, no?

Yes, in any career you have to start out w the basics and work your way to more complex or higher responsibility positions...a path from novice to master. It seems the age old apprentice system for craftsmen and trades is no longer around, or people aren't willing to put in the effort today? A strong, sustainable economy requires a lot of different skill sets. Seems to be many shortages in some areas today.

There is actually a movement in secondary education to return to something of an apprentice/journeyman arrangement. The bright bulbs in education today finally realized a piece of paper and all the theory in the world isn't enough, and many high schools are now partnering with different businesses, governmental and private organizations to provide some kind of hands-on learning.

This has always been true of vocational high schools, and now, even a lot of comprehensive high schools are moving to this model, especially ones with large, or at least well-designed STEM programs.

that's a big admission on the educators' part. and may turn the trend seen in the last 2 generations getting out of 4 year colleges hundreds of thousands of dollars in debt and then starting off at the bottom of the totem pole. I can add more prepositions if required.

Just saw an article that just twisted my tail. A young lady was complaining that her parents had just informed her that if she wanted to come home for the holidays she was going to have to pay for her own airline ticket. Now she is 27 and makes $40,000 a year. Her complaint centered around the fact that her parents had paid for the ticket all the way through college and for the 4 years after she graduated! The ticket was $200. At what point in a young persons life are they required to grow up and stop sponging off of their parents! As soon as I graduated and went into the military as far as I was concerned, I was on my own. If I wanted to come home, that was on me along with everything else! I am a firm believer in giving a child a good start in life, but after that, it is up to them. <_<
