Yes the snow is my irk also but mainly the fact that due to health issues I can't shovel/plow my driveway anymore and have to pay and rely on other people to do it. And sometimes they're not that reliable or don't arrive with all the tools they need to do the job. It's only November and I can see already that it's gonna be a long winter. Sighhhhhhhhhhhhhh.

Played with the snow Blower for about an hour this morning. Single digit temps and 15 mph breeze. Invigorating, but then it was time for a little Baily's and Coffee. Starting to get the feeling back in my toes and fingers.

Great customer service continues......(Sarcasm)

I ordered three things from Dicks Sporting Goods on their Black Friday sale of 25% off and free shipping.  I wanted a fourth item (Pops character of the Vegas goalie) but it was out of stock so I wasn't able to add it.  I got my confirmation immediately and then one by one confirmation it was shipped.....well, for two of them.  They arrived today so I did the live chat asking about the third one.  The operator said is wasn't in stock even though I pointed out that it was STILL in stock on their website.  Yeah he didn't give a poop and was issuing a credit.....but i can re-order when it's back in stock.  I asked if they would honor the sale and he said probably not.

This quality service was one of the nails in TRU's coffin.  One of my last trips to a store a manager dipped the conversation with the cashier when she asked if I found everything and I said 'no'.  I told him there were no hockey goalies in the McFarlane series (there were two in that issue of six) and he was so cocky that he knew they had a case in the warehouse.  I said if you have a case, I will buy all six characters to get those two!  He came back ten minutes later empty handed.  My final dealing with them was ordering two things from their website.  Got the BS e-mails they were coming, shipping soon, in stock soon, etc and finally "yeah we're canceling your order but check in our stores".  Wait....you don't have it in the warehouse so I should drive around to their stores when they should be able to see on line if they have it in their OWN stock??  I never set foot in their store again...not even when they had their closeout.  Too many other places want the business.

Typically, if the employee says a store doesn't have something when the computer states otherwise, the employee is likely in the right. Don't know how many times I've seen something that we were supposed to have and knew we were sold out of.......if we ever had that product in the first place.

Now for my ran, the ComEd phone system, tried to put in for a text alert when they might get to our area and can't get in and when I try to talk to one of their CSRs to try and move this area up since I do have a bed bound parent here, it tells me they're too busy taking storm related calls to have a CSR take my call:angry:

One of the employees was probably cherry picking the cartons in the back room, before anything went onto the racks.  Once, I walked in when an employee had just finished putting out Hot Wheels cars, and a co-worker was berating her for not letting her have a look at everything first.  "My husband gave me a list of things to look for...", hubby probably set up at toy shows selling them at a premium...

While that is a possibilty , could be that the warehouse mis-shipped (not enough), something could have been returned and not reshelved, in a customer's cart and not bought yet, could even have been stolen.....likely by some toy dealer who didn't want to pay for what he was going to sell. Not a fan of the resellers, half the ones I ran across when I was at TRU were scumbags. They would return stuff that didn't sell( even when not bought from us), walk into the store room and look around, never saw it, but heard of them getting into fights over collectables in the store isles, ect. We finally had to start locking the HW, SW, and other collectables up with the video games to keep them from getting them.

I don't cut grass anymore either Carl. As I get older and as my health demands, I just have to go with the flow of what my body tells me I can do or cannot do.

My irk was from yesterday. Recently I had headlight burnout.  Fortunately it just required a new bulb and not a whole unit.  Its a 2000 honda civic. Now for the irk there is very little space to work and it was difficult to get the bulb in and the latch secured.  I did prevail.  No wonder I see cars with burned out bulbs all the time.

As I get older it is tough to admit that I just can't do what I once could.

Best part of mowing the grass, now that I'm retired, is you can go in the house after each pass and get a drink and take a break. There are no rules now for how long it should take.

Now back to ComEd, Dad finally got an update and we may finally have power by about this time tomorrow 11/28/18......we lost power a little after 8pm Sunday 11/25/18. Mom is bed bound and both of them are in their 70's and he called 311 as was suggested to me to see if there was anything they knew of the could help with for Mom, and we have bring paperwork to them for any help.

Got the same problems as you guys, health got me couple of years back. Can't do either mow or shovel. Wife and son been taking care of it, but now the wife has a few health problems that stop her from shoveling or using the blower. Son bought a house and moved last June,

Had to find a way to get the sidewalk and drive cleared. So went and cut a deal with the neighbor 2 doors down. Last few years have watched him shovel his area, probley twice as big as mine. Sometimes the kid took the blower over and helped him out. So this year I told him he could take the blower over and keep it at his house if he would do ours to. I have a 9 horse 28 inch blower, so he did't take very long to make up his mind.  So he has the blower over in his garage now and I will have everything taken care of. His hands won't get cold either, as there are hand heaters built right in on the blower handles.

Wife says she is still going to do the mowing, we'll see come spring. We have a nice John Deere lawn tractor, but you can't do it all with the tractor, so I guess I wait to spring and see what happens.

The Dick's Sporting Goods continues......two days after they said they were issuing a refund, I get an e-mail the last item has shipped.  When I check the tracking number it's been pushed out.....twice.

I also ordered from Free Time Hobbies and Collectible DieCast.  Free Times sends me an unwrapped kit (odd since they no longer has a brick-n-mortar store) and Collectible DieCast just dropped one off my order with no notice (website still shows it in stock).

I understand things get missed or entered wrong when you things used to get ordered over the phone but when done on line, how can they mess that up?

Chrome parts trees. I wish manufacturers would not chrome anything. Let us take care of that ourselves.

That idea would work for some modelers, but not the majority. And what about new builders, would they need to know how to take care of that process right off the bat?

I agree. Removing chrome is far easier that getting it put on.

I'm only mildly irked. Not even irked, exactly. Just disappointed that I can't do as much yard work (without feeling like I've been beaten by a gang of thugs with baseball bats afterwards) as I could a few years back.

Time to take working out a little more seriously.   B)

The years are creeping up on you Ace so get used to it. I know that it's a tough adjustment as I've been going through it for the last year or so, and I'm not exactly overjoyed about it.
