HomerS Posted January 1 Posted January 1 (edited) 2025 not starting off on a good note. Made a few errands this a.m. when close to home a suicidal squirrel crossed where there is no crosswalk. Usually they stop and run back but this one didn't and took both passenger side tires. Edited January 2 by HomerS 2

They sent my sister and me to get them. We still received milk from Twin Oaks weekly. My mother would give me a dollar bill. I’d go to Ann’s Candy Store and get two packs of cigarettes and I had a dime to spend in candy! We thought nothing of it.. selling cigarettes to an eight year old! Would not fly today!
rattle can man Posted January 2 Posted January 2 Peter, snuggling and then getting up doesn't work. I guess it is the price to pay for love.

Bugatti Fan Posted January 2 Posted January 2 How about a laugh ? Yep. That's the one Bill ! John. Quite philosophical and I guess what you are saying is that the thread got locked as a result of misuse ? 1

TonyK Posted January 2 Posted January 2 My dogs have peed a couple of times by the front door the last few days. There's a rug there so they got that too. Nothing has changed around here and I'm no dog expert but I might guess they're marking the area since we've had people here a couple of times around Christmas. But that was days ago. I don't get it. And it happened today after we came back in from outside. 1
A modeler named mike Posted January 2 Posted January 2 My pryor post regarding my broken tooth just got crazier. I did manage to make an appointment with the new oral surgeon which is later today and is only a consultation and costing $213.00 out a pocket. At least I've got my foot in the door. The new problem that arised is our Signa insurance provider is being switched to Delta and we haven't received our new cards and neither of us can find the old Signa cards. So until the new cards show up the oral surgeon's office is telling me we can either wait till the new cards show up to move forward with the extraction or pay out of pocket and be reimbursed later by Delta. What a pain that can be. Fingers crossed that the new cards show up soon or it'll be a toaster and string over the balcony removal...🥴 1

Just be sure to get the right tooth the first time... 1

Yes, when one is determined they will accomplish the task. Ends up my tongue which has a mind of its own did the job to unsecure the broken piece saving the toaster from eminent destruction. This was before going to my consultation appointment today. 1

Boy, Dave you hit the nail on the head! Ends up I'll be having 3 teeth that broke at the gum line and another that sports a gold cap which has been apparently deteriorating underneath it, all to be extracted. I've chosen to have general anesthesia for the procedure since they are talking about the possibility of bone removal or cutting. All to the tune of $3,485.00 😬 Thankfully we do have dental insurance, just waiting to receive our new cards from the new provider. 2

He didn't puncture both tires.....he got run over by both right side tires. Thump, thump. I've had them run under the car and hit the side of the tire and felt the thump, but I see them shaken up and run off. This guy wasn't as fortunate.

I slow down and make sure they get across and blow the horn if he is slow..

TonyK Posted January 3 Posted January 3 Purchased a couple of bath towels and they shed fuzz in the wash and when you use them. Two washes and they still shed. Contacted the store on their website and I'm guessing the response I got is the dreaded AI because it has nothing to do with what I said. Something about "we're sorry there are products that aren't available in our store...." So frustrating. 1
A modeler named mike Posted January 3 Posted January 3 Tony, take those towels back to the store after wetting them. Ask to see the manager and when he ask what's the problem? Snap the towel at him or her as in a shower scene and remark, "see all the fuzz flying off around you?" You'll either get reimbursed or banned from the store for inappropriate behavior.. 🤔°° or maybe a vist from the man with a badge.. if it's the last one I'll start a go fund me page to bail ya out... 3

Seems like anything having to do with our health, and Dentistry is no different, just cost a lot of money. I had a crown breakup just eating some breakfast sausage one morning and that was almost $500.00. The crown was less than 10 years old. I don't know how long these things are supposed to last, but for the price I was expecting longer than that. I have a crown on one of my front teeth on my lower jaw that has the same crown for many years. It was first done in my teens after a difference of opinion with someone else. 1

I guess I'll put the cap in the vault with the rest of my gold bars..🤥..🤣.. I'm told depending on the % of gold it could yield a whopping $40. to $90. Way less than what it cost my dad.. 1
stitchdup Posted January 3 Posted January 3 a very minor change in my medication packaging has completely mixed me up. theres the same amount in the package and all but they are laid out just different enough that i've lost track of if i've taken them or not. before i could just look at the strips and know i've taken them but that doesn't work with the new layout
HomerS Posted January 4 Posted January 4 Hoping to deepen the connection children feel with the characters (and getting someone to pick up future episodes of Sesame Street), they are paring the core cast down to just four Muppets: Elmo, Abby Cadabby, Cookie Monster and Grover. The others — including Bert and Ernie — will still be in the show but not be the stars. Noooooo....!!!!! I'm almost 60 years old and can STILL sing Rubber Ducky!! Not well, but I know the words.....just sayin' I think I have enough backyard for Mr Snuffleupagus if he needs rehomed. 1 2

RSchnell Posted January 5 Posted January 5 My TV s*** the bed. From what I've been able to troubleshoot it's the backlighting part of the TV. In this disposable society we're in it's cheaper to just go buy another TV. Or maybe I won't.

I replaced the backlight on a computer monitor once, it wasn’t worth all the effort should have just bought a new one. Today they sell TV’s everywhere, including the supermarket. Right now they are on after Christmas sales. 1
