mangodart Posted February 9, 2014 Posted February 9, 2014 Hi guys, Here I am with a new built, this car whcih never exist was inspired me by a fellow modeler from the SAE Forum which built it years ago. I like it so much that I decide to build one for myself, but instead giving it a classic Muscle Car look, I decide to go with the "Cale Yarborough" look applied on the Cyclone Spoiler in 69. Hope you'll enjoy it :
mangodart Posted February 9, 2014 Author Posted February 9, 2014 (edited) Some more pics also with a real 71 Cyclone Spoiler I bluit years ago : Edited February 9, 2014 by mangodart
SSNJim Posted February 9, 2014 Posted February 9, 2014 Nice job with the roof transplant - very subtle. It took me a while to figure out what was phantom about the Cougar. That's a good looking car.
mangodart Posted February 9, 2014 Author Posted February 9, 2014 Thanks, effectivly I forgot to say I put a 71 Fastback roof on that COugar.....
Ramcharger Posted February 9, 2014 Posted February 9, 2014 This is a really cool idea and you pulled it off well. I really like the fastback body and the paint scheme works on this car. If I didn't know better, I would have thought it was a Cyclone! Great job!
PappyD340 Posted February 9, 2014 Posted February 9, 2014 Extremely NICE build, good job on the body work!!
disabled modeler Posted February 9, 2014 Posted February 9, 2014 Very nice!.... I have the original 71 Cyclone Spoiler factory stock version build up from my dads old collection....once I find what it needs hope it comes out as nice as yours did...great work on it!
mangodart Posted February 9, 2014 Author Posted February 9, 2014 (edited) Thanks for the nice comments Edited February 9, 2014 by mangodart
cobraman Posted February 9, 2014 Posted February 9, 2014 Nice work. I sure would like to see that Cyclone kit on the shelves again.
1930fordpickup Posted February 9, 2014 Posted February 9, 2014 Good looking model. I like the colors and the roof looks like it came that way form Mercury.
'70 Grande Posted February 9, 2014 Posted February 9, 2014 Love your Cougar Spoiler! I really like factory-phantoms, and your idea and build-execution on this Cougar is excellent! Your build of the Cyclone Spoiler is excellent as well. (Sure would like to see that vintage kit get reissued again, but I doubt that will ever happen).
cuatom8 Posted February 9, 2014 Posted February 9, 2014 Hi Mango, nice to see you here! Very nice model Just the blue ligth are weird
skymnky721 Posted February 9, 2014 Posted February 9, 2014 Wow,,fantastic work,,thats a cool design car,,looks like something they SHOULD have made,,nice
Jantrix Posted February 9, 2014 Posted February 9, 2014 Wow, that is very nice work. The roof graft is so perfect, it looks stock. Maybe it should have been.
Rob Hall Posted February 9, 2014 Posted February 9, 2014 Neat idea...I've wondered how a '71-73 Mustang fastback roofline would look on a Cougar of those years.
satterwhite78 Posted February 10, 2014 Posted February 10, 2014 If only you had worked for FoMoCo at the time and presented that concept to the designers! Sharp and a great looking Mercury!
Lunajammer Posted February 10, 2014 Posted February 10, 2014 Very well thought out and nicely excecuted. Beautiful phantom.
realgone58 Posted February 10, 2014 Posted February 10, 2014 Very cool! I really love your green Montego!
