Joker Posted June 2, 2014 Posted June 2, 2014 Got this fun puppy in a trade. ( Thanks Tom aka Modlbldr ) Anyhoo....this is what I got. Added styrene to the back tire in order to make it a slick. Made a paper clip sissybar with backrest. Bent some tubes to make the fenders. Thinned out the banana seat and added a seat post mount. This pix shows the paperclip chopper forks. Head lite is a tach with Micro Kristal Klear. Some mock up photos.... The chopper is a companion piece for a '63 Ford Galaxie on my bench. Thanks for looking...
cobraman Posted June 2, 2014 Posted June 2, 2014 Very nice. Those wheels have always been a sore spot however.
Chuck Most Posted June 2, 2014 Posted June 2, 2014 Nice! I've always wanted to try out some photoetched dragster front wheels on one of these.
Joker Posted June 2, 2014 Author Posted June 2, 2014 (edited) Thanks y'all Totally agree on the wheels. A little more sanding and then on to primer and paint. Edited June 2, 2014 by Joker

Joker Posted June 4, 2014 Author Posted June 4, 2014 (edited) A few w.i.p. pixs. Posted using the kitchen wall phone app. Edited June 4, 2014 by Joker
Cool Hand Posted June 4, 2014 Posted June 4, 2014 Another cool creation coming out of the Joker's workshop.
Tom Geiger Posted June 12, 2014 Posted June 12, 2014 That is too cool. And you make it look easy! I had a Raleigh Chopper... actually went through two of one because my original orange one got stolen. I should look into modifying that Schwinn into this... the Chopper is all straight lines. Only challenge would be to make the seat! Hmmmm...
Joker Posted June 21, 2014 Author Posted June 21, 2014 Thanks y'all...much appreciated. Work and fishing have taken up all my time. (grateful for both) A little update on my 'lil project. Using my trusty bottle of Ambroid Z-Mask, I slathered it on the handlebars, chain/guard assembly and the crank/pedals. Clear bubbled on me ....a light sanding is in the works. anyhoo..here are some pixs
