jbwelda Posted August 19, 2015 Posted August 19, 2015 (edited) as I mentioned, a trip over to my friends garage, greeted by a black Camaro winking at you: nice Toyota land cruiser FJ40, again I am jealous: and just a look around: ratty Raunchero out in a parking lot: couple of beautiful Austin Healys, we may have seen one of these before: a look inside the shop, looks like an old jaguar, a triumph tr4 and an MGB or Midget: derelict oldsmobile and caddy: VW Type 181 aka The Thing: kustom transporter: T Bird, I believe that would be a 58, outside a place that fits so perfectly. photo of the day if not car of the day: finally, on the road home, spy a chrome bumper MGBGT, best I could do was a butt shot: there is always tomorrow, until there isn't. jb Edited August 19, 2015 by jbwelda
jbwelda Posted August 21, 2015 Posted August 21, 2015 (edited) another benz shooting brake, I love these cars, great classic lines, understated looking and more than capable mechanically. actually I never knew MB made so many wagon styles before I moved here, but there is one around every corner here, not all new either, some quite classic not even sure what this is, but faintly looks like a rolls Royce badge on the back, probably more like a Chrysler though this one is definitely a Roller, possibly even brand smacking new. very Jaguar looking: then this brand new benz shooting brake pulled up next to it. this is one awesome car, look at those exhaust pipes! a look inside the garage reveals a lot of kool stuff: finally, an older gentleman driving a ratty but sweet vw cabriolet, he said he had it since 1972, I didn't catch what year the car is, 65 maybe? he said yeah, he gets asked if he wants to sell it all the time. jb Edited August 21, 2015 by jbwelda
chunkypeanutbutter Posted August 21, 2015 Posted August 21, 2015 That Chrysler is a 1936-or-similar Airflow. I always loved the grille on em.The thing below it is actually a Bentley, a Continental, somewhere around 2002.I didn't see anything on the road today. However, two days ago when I was on my lunch break coming back from Rite Aid, I saw a blue Audi 80 sedan!
Foxer Posted August 21, 2015 Posted August 21, 2015 kind of busy day today, starting with something I never really knew existed, a Porsche 968, cousin or descendent of the 944: kind of nice looking, sort of like a Nissan 180SX: jb That IS a 968 Vert .. completely stock. The 968 was the 944 replacement. After five 924/944's I tried to find a 968, to no avail .. there weren't many made.
Agent G Posted August 21, 2015 Posted August 21, 2015 That is one fine looking fire truckIt sits in the lobby of the Lemay Car Museum in Tacoma. A beautiful truck it is.G
RancheroSteve Posted August 21, 2015 Posted August 21, 2015 That sad Ranchero (seen here a week or so back) still hasn't moved and is now attracting commentary:
jbwelda Posted August 21, 2015 Posted August 21, 2015 forgot one from yesterday: a beat bron-cho in for restoration possibly: jb
chunkypeanutbutter Posted August 21, 2015 Posted August 21, 2015 Man, rent a ramp truck, pull up to that Ranchero on a quiet night...
om617 Posted August 21, 2015 Posted August 21, 2015 derelict oldsmobile and caddy: Oh i love the Olds. Could you throw it in a box and ship it over?

chunkypeanutbutter Posted August 22, 2015 Posted August 22, 2015 From Wikipedia:"Shooting-brake is a car body style that has evolved through several distinct meanings over its history.Shooting-brake originated as an early 19th century British term[1] for a vehicle used to carry shooting parties[2] with their equipment and game. The term brake[3] was initially a chassis used to break in horses — and was subsequently used to describe a motorized vehicle. The term was later applied to custom-built wagons by high-end coachbuilders and subsequently became synonymous withstation wagon or estate.[4][5][6][7][8]In contemporary usage, the term shooting-brake has broadened to include a range of vehicles from five-door station wagons — to three-door models combining features of a wagon and a coupé."

One of the best examples Aston martin db5 shooting brake, and according to Brits its a 3door wagon is a shooting brake, and is WIKI is never fully accurate. Just saying.
Ace-Garageguy Posted August 22, 2015 Posted August 22, 2015 (edited) A single-car crash being cleared. Light traffic, clear weather, 4-lane divided highway, good road.Late-model SUV, rolled multiple times and not readily identifiable. And pointed in the wrong direction. Two ambulances on the scene not seeming to be in any particular hurry; you know what that usually means. And a kids big brown teddy-bear lying on the pavement next to the vehicle. Please pay attention. Don't text and drive. Wear your belts. Use good child-seats. Edited August 22, 2015 by Ace-Garageguy
Joe Handley Posted August 22, 2015 Posted August 22, 2015 A really nice Little Red Truck, '67 Camaro SS, and equally nice XK120!Also discover that Nissan made a Flex Fuel Titan until today, one when filling my 200.
rusty85 Posted August 23, 2015 Posted August 23, 2015 This old Dodge was for sale on a farm near Bethesda, PA. Classic Good Humor truck outside the Pennsylvania Rail Road Museum.
Ace-Garageguy Posted August 23, 2015 Posted August 23, 2015 Great looking old trucks, Ross. The Dodge wrecker is about a '33 I believe. Love your tag lines too. My sentiments, exactly.
SSNJim Posted August 23, 2015 Posted August 23, 2015 I watched a 71/72 Chevelle SS convertible nearly get centerpunched by a new F-150 after the Chevelle pulled out and turned right in front of the truck. No harm done, lots of honking and presumably birds flying.
jefropas Posted August 23, 2015 Posted August 23, 2015 I pulled over a brand new Porsche 918 today for speeding...I think I drooled on his car....Jeff
