I am pleased that last night I got more than 2 hours of sleep (got about 6). I have a few bad vertebrae in my back and every now and then they let me know they are still there. Been averaging 2-3 hours of continuous sleep a night for the past week or so. I woke up somewhat refreshed this morning and went to work in good spirits. I am pleased with that.

A co-worker has been having a lot of financial difficulty lately and has been trying to sell her house in order to downsize and have some extra money. Fortunately, the house was willed to her and is paid off, but isn't in the best condition and she's been having a lot of trouble selling. She finally received an offer today that's enough where she can get into something smaller and have some money in the bank to boot.

After going to a friends wake yesterday and seeing a lot of people dressed in "picnic" clothes" which didn't sit too well with me, I had attended the funeral today and there were a lot of people, and 98% of them were dressed up like I expect people to dress for wakes & weddings. I was very well pleased as this was a very good friend not only of mine, but for many others as well. May he R.I.P.

The toilet in the master bath was leaking at the floor seal. I called a few local plumbers for a quote, and one of the places I called gave me a very reasonable price... way lower than the other quotes I got. Almost too good to be true. So I asked the customer service lady "is that the real price? No surprises when they show up and give me the bill"? She assured me that was the real price... no tricks, no gimmicks, no hidden fees.

Well, when the guys came (there were two of them), they shook my hand and introduced themselves. A very nice start, IMO. They were both very professional, yet also friendly... they told me a few hilarious stories of jobs that they had been on, including a lady who equipped a bathroom with 24K gold fixtures... for her dog! Yep, it was the dog's bathroom!

They removed the toilet, put in a new floor seal, reinstalled the toilet, cleaned up, and were finished in half an hour.

I have been very lucky lately as far as contractors go. A few weeks ago I posted my experience with the roofer who fixed the plumbing vent stack. And now, another home run with the plumbers. Almost restores my belief in the inherent  goodness of humanity, and I am a very cynical guy. B)

Sometimes you just luck out.  The last time I had to have a plumber out, they weren't even in the front door before they were throwing down drop cloths between my front door and the sink in the kitchen where the problem was.  I don't think their shoes ever touched the floor anywhere in my house.  Quite a change from the guy the time before that who wiped his feet on my hall carpet because I didn't have a door mat.

Sorry, NW suburban Chicago only. :D

Check with them.  See if I can bring in my clogged toilet.   :o

even though i dislike very much all levels of goverment, i'm liking the new tax laws they passed the other month. found out today i'm not getting a $730 tax refund, instead i'm getting  (taa-daa!) $3126, heck ya!!

Canada lowered its taxes?

Hmm...wonder if Massachusetts could take a queue or two.

We're been here in FLA for a little better than 15 years.  Since day one, we've been trying to purchase the empty lot next door.  No Luck.  I've been using it as a dumping place for all my yard waste & clippings with the best of intentions to cleaning it all up.  Today was the day!  My friend John came over with his 31HP, 4 wheel drive tractor with a scoop up front and back hoe out back.  We worked all day and it looks really good.  I didn't get any shop time though.

Had a lot of bad weather yesterday here in the Midwest. Myself and my property came through unscathed. Only a few people I know and have talked to sustained any damage, and it was very minor, which is good considering they were anticipating huge hail and we had a 70% chance of tornado's.

Somebody I know with MS, she cut two meals of three to half portions and its been working for me so far. Since we can't exercise like everyone else. Also walking a little around the house more..

Yesterday I turned in my last assignment on my way to getting my teaching credential. This morning I woke up, sat by the pool with a cup of coffee and thought about what I wanted to do instead of what I needed to do.

Finally finished my billing for the last period and cross-referencing the brake calipers for a '67 Iso Rivolta. The fronts are Girling units originally spec'd for various and sundry Lamborghinis, and the rears are Girlings designed for several Aston Martin applications. Iso picked existing parts off the shelf to design their cars around. Smart. Now to see if our parts guy can source them.

Iso Rivolta      Image result for iso rivolta

Normally I'd rebuild the damm things myself, but the owner of the car had some bozo work on it, and he sent all the calipers off. They got scrambled. So NOW, the calipers we have with the car, though they're all brandy-new rebuilt by White Post, don't actually go to an Iso of any description. Totally USELESS, and the rears won't even physically bolt to the DeDion rear-end center section.

Least I can hand off finding all the stuff now, 'cause I have the CORRECT part numbers I need to fit this particular car.

For the record, the front calipers that came in with the car fit a DeTomaso Mangusta, and the rears fit a Daimler SP 250.

Maybe I can finally get some model-car bench time in today.  B)

Went to the Home Show at the Arizona Fairgrounds today. Wife wanted to go I don't like crowds and would rather had skipped it. She wanted to go so she could see the 2 people from the TV show " Flip or Flop". Stood in line, waited in seats, and finally did see them and hear about their lives and show. Wife was happy so it was worth it. I will say that the woman on the show is one good looking woman.

If that's the blond I'm thinking of, yes, she's very attractive.  The husband is a dork!  And don't forget - happy wife means happy life.

Almost 90F yesterday afternoon and this morning it was 62F outside with a mild breeze. With the Sunrising it's time to close the Windows, but first a quick step outside to take a shot down the Driveway.

Christine puts the HOT in HOT!     But, she knows it.

"Happy HOT wife, happy life."  Tareeq understands that . . . and she works it!  Can't blame him for being whipped.
