John M. Posted June 30 Posted June 30 Today was the first day of summer camp and it went smoothly. Unlike the school kids, the summer camp kids were well behaved thanks to the staff. Like my boss does with the school bus company, the camp director runs a tight ship. 2
89AKurt Posted July 1 Posted July 1 Pleased that we are expecting the rains to start this week. I'm trying to egg it on, all clean, windows down, but didn't do a rain dance. 2 1
slusher Posted July 1 Posted July 1 Twisted my ankle Sunday night but enjoyed the forum and watched the Equalizer with Danzel Washington on BET..

Falcon Ranchero Posted July 2 Posted July 2 Noticed that today marks one full year I've been on the Model Cars Mag forum. 6
89AKurt Posted July 2 Posted July 2 Yesterday morning I looked at the almost useless iPhone weather app, no rain at all forecasted for 10 days, no clouds, 90º predicted high. The radio weather guy is usually more accurate. So I taunted Mother Nature, and had lunch in Seligman. Watched the thunderheads build up, everywhere else. I almost want to aim where the radar shows rain, sort of like a Hopi rain dance (I attended one years ago) but with a car. But alas, after I got home, it started to rain so I closed the pickup windows, then it stopped. Another area got 1/4" of rain. Pleased to see it's happening. Again phone app shows zero rain, radio guy said it's a higher chance today. 1
TarheelRick Posted July 2 Posted July 2 Two weeks ago I had the staples removed from the incision of my shoulder replacement. The quite attractive P.A. told me I could remove the arm sling on July 2nd - today is July 2nd. Got out of bed this morning, removed sling to take a shower and have not put it back on. The shoulder is still pretty immobile, but there is so much freedom is just letting the arm hang free. I can use it a bit, but there is going to be much more therapy to get back to 90% or better. 5
Rodent Posted July 4 Posted July 4 (edited) I have been communicating with forum member RSchnell for a while (I know what the "R" stands for!) and I finally met him today and we hung out for a while. Really nice guy. "That's nice", you say, but I live in California and "R" lives in Florida. Where and why did we hang out? Watch the 1:1 project car thread for more information 🙂 I will let him post the pics. Edited July 4 by Rodent 1

Nice to put a face with the person responsible for me dropping copious amounts of cash and getting not just one, but two cars across the country. LOL. Like I told you earlier, you can now claim the award for being the first forum member I've met in person. 1
TonyK Posted July 4 Posted July 4 There's a traffic signal where a side street meets up to the main 2 lane street. It turned red at 6 AM and I was the only car there. Coming back it did it again. Couple hours later I came through there and it happened again. The next morning it happened again so I emailed the "Transportation Maintenance Manager" and he replied right away and said he'd send a crew to have a look. Next day he told me the pedestrian button was stuck on so it kept sending a signal telling the light to change. He thanked me for bringing the problem to attention. Pleased at the quick response from all of them to fix this. 1
John M. Posted July 6 Posted July 6 (edited) I got home from spending the holiday weekend at my lady friend's cousin's home and we had a great time The pool was great and so was his hospitality. Nothing fancy. Just nine civilized adults relaxing and sipping wine. Edited July 7 by John M. 2
stavanzer Posted July 9 Posted July 9 Had a Good day. Physio-Therapy went well, Got some bad news about a Job Training program that has been stripped of Federal Funding by the Trump One Big Beautiful Bill, but I've been trying to get accepted since January so while I am bummed I'm not surprised. Went to Hobby Lobby, and bought nothing. Wish Round2 and HL would rotate the stock more often. So,all-in-all a pretty good day.
Earl Marischal Posted July 9 Posted July 9 Discovered that our local river, the Derwent, now has otters living in it and they have started a family. steve 3

Ace-Garageguy Posted July 12 Posted July 12 Managed a 2 hour hike, first time since I broke my ribs. Started out a buncha times earlier, but something always came up. Took some ibuprofen and a stick, 'cause my hips need some rehab, but overall it was pleasant. Not fast, but OK time, and towards the middle of it all my parts seemed to be working more-or-less right again. 7
slusher Posted July 13 Posted July 13 My brother came over and we watched the race at lunch had a joyful afternoon.. 2
Falcon Ranchero Posted July 13 Posted July 13 On Monday took some advice about ordering on eBay, got me a gift card, had to make an account to use it, and ordered a 1960 Plymouth sales brochure. Should be in in two weeks. Seems like a long wait since it’s coming from only one province over, but as long as it gets here I’m good. 4
