congrats Mike!

Congratulations Mike! Hope you and your wife had a great day!

Thanks, guys! We had a pretty laid-back day, worked in the yard a bit then played electronic battleship and I fixed some sesame ginger shrimp for supper.

I am forever grateful to the men and women who sacrificed so much to create the greatest country in the world.

It is how ever unfortunate many have forgotten that heritage...

Amen.

Had a very good day at work today. The website I was the lead developer on for the last 8 months at my client went live today...and it went live very smoothly, very few issues so far. I'm tired (was at the office since 5:30 am), but feeling satisfied and a lot of stress relief..

I went to a cruise night tonight and saw a lot of old friends and met some new ones. Some really nice cars in the bunch as well. It sure beats stayin' home and watchin' TV.

My TV and Internet is back! I got home last evening to find nothing on my Verizon Fios was working. Then I remembered that I passed a herd of a dozen or so Verizon trucks working on poles in the pouring rain on my way home! So I knew the issue was local.

My wife was near freaking out that she had no TV. She had nothing to do at all! Kinda funny. Me? I cleaned up my workbench and fiddled with some model stuff. No problem.

My concern? I'm pleased that it came back about 9pm because I'm working from home today and need the phone and Internet for meetings. If that wasn't working, I would've had to drive an hour plus to the office! On a day I didn't need to be there! So I'm most pleased!

Got the custom instruments in from Classic for the '47 Caddy / LS build. Making good headway on the wiring harness and integrating all the electronics...got the remote entry system and the pushbutton start gizmos all up and functioning 100%. Getting close now...

Got a summer job working at an auto parts store literally one mile from house. It should be an interesting change from working with kids like I do during the school year. I'll only be part time. I asked to work no more than 20 hours a week. And have made it clear that I'll be for sure going back to my regular job in the fall. Start this Saturday. Both nervous and happy.

Lots of good stuff in the last couple of weeks.

Have a little contract gig starting up.

I have a small modeling-related business that I think will be producing starting this summer.

I decided to run for mayor of our city, so far, I've had very positive response.

And today, just for fun when it was announced on the noon news, I went into Boston and tried out for Who Wants to be A Millionaire. Didn't make the cut, but it was fun, and I'd definitely go back and give it another shot.

My wife and daughters told me I should do that! I told them it wouldn't be fair to the normal folks! ;)
