Dave Metzner
Latest news regarding the Moebius 1961 Pontiac Ventura kit is that tooling is underway and 1st test shots are expected to be sent in the next 3 weeks or so. Once first test shots are here I'll have a better idea regarding the production schedule. IF test shots don't require major corrections - First Pontiac kits could be here by December. W-409
Indeed a very good news. I'm not sure which one do I want the most... The Pickups, this, the Comet or the Satellite. All of them are very interesting subjects that I have wanted to build for a long time, and finally someone is making kits out of them. This Pontiac will be a great starting point for a Junior Stocker, and it might be that I need to get another one built as a Street Car too. I can't wait for this one! peekay
Very much looking forward to one of my favourite Pontiacs. (And thanks for those pics, John - inspiration indeed!)
Agent G
The 'bubbletop' Ventura? Wow. Now I've gotta get a couple more! Yes they did! Most went north where the sun wasn't in such abundance, thus turning the trooper into a baked potato. I have seen old photos of these down in my neck of the woods too. Chuck Kourouklis
I'm absolutely in love with this one! That color is fantastic, and just the shade of blue that I want to paint mine someday! Same here. X3. Good Lord, that car is so gorgeous. There were some good-looking '61 - '64 GM full-sizes, but that '61 Poncho is the one that really had everything dialed in, imho. MrObsessive
GM did some really neat things with their '61 offerings. While fins were on their way out (as opposed to those crazy '59's), they still managed to captured the essence of fins without going totally out of their minds. There's everything to like about this car------thin pillared "bubbletop" roofline, neatly blended in tailfins, nice sweeping windshield without that knee-knocking dogleg, etc. Too bad GM today follows a somewhat "me too" styling philosophy. Back then, they were on top of the world with styling and the world knew it.
