Tom Geiger Posted January 4, 2015 Posted January 4, 2015 (edited) However thats one other few remaining Johan molds that the former owner of Johan is still using. I'm told he's selling them at shows and the quality has suffered. Buyer beware. Okey doesn't have the molds anymore. At last spotting, J Lloyd, former owner of Lindberg had the molds. Okey has a big parts hoard, mostly bought as part of his purchases at the Johan/Seville liquidation auction. The Rambler wagon kits he's selling now are his remaining stock, and he's been seen assembling the kits into boxes from parts bags. Those kits are sold at shows without shrink wrap. J Lloyd also had the '59 Dodge and Chrysler Turbine car promo tooling, and was shopping that around. Those two kits were seen in Moebius showcase at a trade show, so maybe Moebius has the '59 Rambler tooling too. Edited January 4, 2015 by Tom Geiger
Guest Posted January 4, 2015 Posted January 4, 2015 This is what I'm starting with. The parts. Plans are still up in the air ATM. But, I have a few ideas. We'll see how it goes.
1930fordpickup Posted January 4, 2015 Posted January 4, 2015 (edited) Rodger I built this Escort when it was a new release. I still have mine , painted blue. My sister picked a good christmas present. Are you putting an SHO engine in the back? Edited January 4, 2015 by 1930fordpickup
batmanreturns Posted January 4, 2015 Posted January 4, 2015 im in , put me down for early 60s chevy stepside pick up
MeatMan Posted January 4, 2015 Posted January 4, 2015 I like the Escort. My first pick was the Dodge Omni 024 but I decided to go with a RWD car since chassis work is one of my weakest skills.
wrecker388 Posted January 4, 2015 Posted January 4, 2015 Okay, here's my Cougar. Wheels are from Revell's 55 F-100, scratchbuilt the cage out of 1/16 rod.
FatBoyKuztoms Posted January 4, 2015 Posted January 4, 2015 Count me in, just need to figure out what kit I want to use. May have to run to buy my LHS to buy a kit.
bill_67 Posted January 4, 2015 Posted January 4, 2015 I had alot of fun last year, would like to do this again this year. So I ordered this kit to today. I'm calling it International LaScout II, I will combine the Scout with a Revell Ferrari LaFerrari. I was inspired by this truck, mine may have to be lowered but not slammed like this. Too bad this looks cool, but would ruin the sleeper effect.
Pat Minarick Posted January 4, 2015 Posted January 4, 2015 Well it fit ! I will need to shorten up the a-arms a little ,but it fit so I'm happy . Even have room for the radiator.
wagonmaster Posted January 4, 2015 Author Posted January 4, 2015 As of now we have 15 entries. looking good. I still have to figure out my build. I have ideas but nothing finalized. Good luck to all. As Jantrix said. This is about sleepers. you can build anything you like. as long as it is a sleeper. and a sleeper is a deceptively fast car. Tim

Not criticizing, but could you fix it please?

Petetrucker07 Posted January 5, 2015 Posted January 5, 2015 That little Smart will be a hand full if you nailed it from a stop light. Very nice.

Belugawrx Posted January 5, 2015 Posted January 5, 2015 (edited) Ok I'm in with '62 Impala / Ls1 Combo Edited January 5, 2015 by Belugawrx
zenrat Posted January 5, 2015 Posted January 5, 2015 (edited) Anyone wanting a turbine but baulking at kitbashing a Johan Turbine Car can get a powerplant from one of the current full detail Batmobiles (and you can still build one with the Lincoln donk). Note you need the deluxe kit with the photo etch. Anyhoo, here's my official entry photo. That bulge needs to be removed from the bonnet and I'm thinking vinyl roof and beige or mustard paint. That's a 440 Magnum from a Revell Charger in the bag. Not sure about induction yet... Edited January 5, 2015 by zenrat
Petetrucker07 Posted January 5, 2015 Posted January 5, 2015 Thanks. That's what traction control is for, right Yeah buddy. Just a flip of the switch. I like watchin those outlaw 8.5 guys. Its just a pedal fest.

prostreeter69 Posted January 5, 2015 Posted January 5, 2015 Hey guys: This sounds like fun, count me in with a 76 Chevy caprice running a LS 9. I will get pics up when I can. Jon

Im using ios and every once in while itll mess up. I just refresh PB and try again.
chunkypeanutbutter Posted January 5, 2015 Posted January 5, 2015 (edited) So I was going to use the '94 Impala SS LT1 engine, but I don't know. I'd almost rather have a Ford block in it. Edited January 5, 2015 by chunkypeanutbutter
502 Posted January 5, 2015 Posted January 5, 2015 I'm in, not sure exactly on the build yet. I'm thinking something similar to the muscle truck from roadkill. I'll probably build the 77 gmc with a twin turbo LS.
Helix Posted January 5, 2015 Posted January 5, 2015 I think I have this P/B issue sorted! Anyway, here's what I'm going to do! Take this kit.....minus the rims and flares, just some steel rims will do the job... And throw this 440 in with the appropriate driveline
Pim Posted January 5, 2015 Posted January 5, 2015 I have now made it official my entry will be a aoshima Datsun 720 with a LHD dash from a hilux and modified interior tub kindly supplied by Luke (Cool Hand) as for power most likely a Chevy motor and mini cooper rims
