I just can't wait to here what's wrong with it ? dose nothing for me .

Well, it DOES something for me, and a lot of other people(so it seems).

Can we please wait 'till we see the kit. I'm not ready for a DOSE of nit-picking yet!

Agree...... Once we see it, then we will know for sure. I hope it is not a die cast conversion and they have the body right.

Right now, a tentative December and we're taking pre-orders (shameless self-plug) https://www.megahobby.com/products/preorder-1968-chevelle-ss-396-1-24-revell.html

Just a heads up, we take payment up front on pre-orders which we've found helps the whole process go a lot smoother for all parties involved.

I ordered 2 from Megahobby. Revell has 2 sold for sure.

Where are the fancy Red Line tires mentioned in the product description?

They probably will just photoshop them into the box art, which was built from test shots.  Pretty standard for box art models to be missing decals/final engravings and details/etc. that the production kit will have.  Note that there are no underhood decals shown either.

now if they will just tool up a nice 1964 Chevelle /Malibu

I wouldn't hold you breath for one. When the '65 Chevelle Z-16 was new, there was a slim chance, but now, not so much.

Now a '69 variant off this '68, yes, I definitely could see that happening, especially in light of this bullet point:

Separate frame structure

I don't recall any of Revell's '65-'72 GM A-bodies having a separate frame.

There is a few more pictures of the test shot (box art model) posted on Donn Yost's Facebook page. Looking at all the pictures, it looks like one of the best kits to come out of Revell in a very long time. It looks like they actually took the time to get all the proportions right. There is also mention in the comments of a '69 coming.

Also, in one of Donn's latest videos he mentions the '68, but only made a comment of a '64 Chevelle coming out. Does he know something we don't or was it just an error.

This looks mighty nice from my end! B)

I hope it's not to much to ask for a convertible from this? And yes, this certainly should have it all over those original '68 Chevelle annuals and kits.........LIGHT years ahead!

Robert Glucksman This is a Brand new tool of the 68, then 69 Chevelle An Inspired tool from the Great Ron Rowlett...
I am extremely proud of this build, & Honored to have worked with Ron..
The fit on the test shot was excellent, the seams are almost non existent. Considering the gates for this kit, well, just one more reason that Ron is the best

I Sprayed Molotow for all of the chrome

If model kit flaws were HALF as belabored as all the puling about "nit-picking"...

and that's all I got to say outside the link at my signature.  Over time it's become a lot clearer to me about how some reactions come straight from the amygdala, and actual thought shuts down at any level higher than that.

As for the kit, I'm liking what I see so far, especially if we get a separate frame.  I just LOOOOVE separate frames - more realistic overall, easier to paint detail too.  This'll be great to set against the AMT '68 El Camino and examine.

Looks nice, I am already thinking about using the best resin redlines in the planet on it, of course, the Replicas and Miniatures redlines.....

With the separate frame and the non molded in exhaust this car is a 60's and 70's asphalt short track race car builders great starter kit

I wouldn't count on that either.

Not with the AMT kit still available.

Eh - maybe. Seems like the folks at Revell are all too happy to do a better job and tell AMT/Round2 to suck it!

Looks VERY nice so far !  I'd like to see the '69 done in  300 Deluxe Coupe body style ...

Interchangeability between the AMT 396-427-454 / T.H.-400 / A.C. combo and the Revell 396-427-454 / 4-speed will hopefully be an easy swap .

( Resin Manufacturers : Umm ... Beaumont conversion , please ? )

I could go for that.  MCG already has all the scripts, but all you'd need is a front end and a dash.

Aaaah!  A separate frame! Excellent, and trying to paint frame rails is one of my pet peeves when it comes to chassis detailing! Makes things so much easier...........

That wouldn't be too hard if that never comes about to convert the hardtop into a coupe. They shared the same roofline, so one would only need to add the vent windows, and proper plastic stock for the window frames and posts.
