1965 Plymouth Belvedere Max Wedge

A street and strip Max Wedge.

Just finished another one that’s been sitting on the bench. Only eight more to go...before I open another kit.

I cut out the wimpy rear end that Mobius supplied, and used a 1:24 monogram rear housing from my parts box. That tiny rear just won’t cut it. Slicks are 7in from Speed City, Rear rims are Fireball. Front rims are kit supplied. Wheel screws and air valves are Pro Tech.

My very first black paint job, at least since I was young. Because of the excessive orange peel in this paint job, is why it sat so long. I never had to start sanding with anything more coarse than 3200, but this needed 2400 to knock it down. But then I noticed black on my polishing flannel, as I broke through on the drivers side door. Thanks to a little Future, it’s really very hard to notice. Fingerprints, hair, fibers, really show up. The paint was a pain but I think it came out ok.

Thanks everyone.

Im far from a Mopar expert, but is this oval air cleaner that is supplied in the kit even for a max wedge? Or is it supposed to be on a Hemi?  I haven’t come across any max wedge cars in my searches that had this type of air cleaner.

I decided to just use it because I didn’t detail the carbs at all, and it covers things pretty well.
