doorsovdoon Posted October 21, 2020 Posted October 21, 2020 Here's another '62 Electra I did over the week, all black with burgundy red interior. I didn't post in WIP as I've already done one, but I have included it in these pictures along with the black one. I love this kit, even after two of these in under a month. I'll be more than happy to do another! 1
drodg Posted October 21, 2020 Posted October 21, 2020 Very nice! Grew up in a white with blue interior four door as a kid. Beautiful job.
espo Posted October 21, 2020 Posted October 21, 2020 Seeing the reflections in the paint finish shows just how good this paint job is'. Black is one of the harder colors to photograph but with the clean chrome trim this really stands out. I like how you detailed the interior and the paint details in the engine bay and the chassis also looks great.
RAMBENNA Posted October 21, 2020 Posted October 21, 2020 both of these are excellent, great job and nice paint jobs
doorsovdoon Posted October 21, 2020 Author Posted October 21, 2020 Thanks, guys. The other two colour choices I want to do is all red with white interior, and white with light blue roof and matching blue interior. Two more of these builds to come, so watch this space!
Spottedlaurel Posted October 21, 2020 Posted October 21, 2020 Very nice Gareth. Nowhere to hide with straight black paint!
ewetwo Posted October 21, 2020 Posted October 21, 2020 both are beautiful and the black paint is awesome. I've never achieved a finish like that before.
Chuckyg1 Posted October 22, 2020 Posted October 22, 2020 Man, that paint is flawless. Love the interior work too.
doorsovdoon Posted October 22, 2020 Author Posted October 22, 2020 Cheers, guys. Yeah, black paint hides nothing! The paint is one of my better attempts, though it's far from perfect. Still some orange peel in places but I couldn't polish it anymore without rubbing through, which unfortunately I have done on some of the raised areas. The foiling is a bit scruffy in places because my blade was borderline blunt but I thought I could get more life out of it. Note to self.. foil blunts blades like nothing else, use a new blade for every project no matter how sharp it still feels!
David G. Posted October 22, 2020 Posted October 22, 2020 Nicely Done! Excellent color combination and great looking paintwork. David G.
e30lover Posted October 22, 2020 Posted October 22, 2020 They both look great! Love the color combo. Keep'em coming!
