leafsprings
Will kit bash the Revell '56 Ford pickup with the 1/32 scale Monogram Mack pumper to create a mini pumper. Good news, both molded in a reddish orange, so will only need trim paint and when mated together, look like there the same scale. First step is using the saw. BIGTRUCK
I think this is a great idea for something built outside the box. Alot of detail can be put into this and look super.

leafsprings
Using the frame from the AMT super stones, actually a 1 ton F 350. Using the '56 F 100 272 V8, but the kits 3 speed overdrive won't cut it for fire service, replaced it with a heavy duty Allison automatic from an old c 600 kit. Using a 1 ton I beam front axle and front springs from Rookie Resin and dual wheels from Scenes Unlimited. leafsprings
Going pretty fast, cab running boards align with steps on pumper and cab interior details added. The rear half of the pumper frame and under carriage drops in the the F 350 frame, so I will keep it for structural integrity. Chariots of Fire
That's going to look like it should! Would you consider painting the pump panel flat black? If so, before the paint dries completely take a Qtip and go over the major components of the panel that are in relief. It will remove the black and leave the chrome. A VERY small dab of thinner would help. Here's an example of the results.
leafsprings
Thanks for the tip Charles! Those gauges look amazing, great job! I already added some decals, but may change it out, seeing how much detail is already built in these 1/32 scale kits.

GLMFAA1
Nice pumper, I wonder if it would be better proportioned if the pump body was 'bobbed' a little. just a side bar. My pumpers. The Revell ford with widened fenders and scratch built pumper body using AMT and Aurora parts. A Datsun with the Aurora 1/32 pumper body A AMT Ford pick up with the MPC Chevy pick up fire body on the back greg
Tom Geiger
Great work! I’m enjoying this thread! What tires do you have on the Scenes Unlimited wheels? They look perfect! I have planned on building something like this for a long time. I’ve had a junker body set aside and bought a complete kit at the last Ollie’s $9.99 blowout. leafsprings
Thanks for the comments and contributions! This kit bash is actually pretty enjoyable to build. Both of these kits have been around for along time, and others have beat me to the idea a long time ago, and added great innovations to the build a long time ago. The 2 major reasons I waited until now, is first, the '56 Ford issue I'm using finally came out molded in a very similar red as the pumper kit, and second, appropriate wheels and tires finally became available from the aftermarket, thanks to Scenes Unlimited. The excellent 17.5" wheel and tire come as a package from Danny.
