66 Chevy Impala SS

This is a replica of my first car I bought when I was 17.  The chrome reverse wheels was in style back then so the first thing I did was install a set, so I replicated those with some 1/25 scale wheels from Pegasus. Another thing that was in was the chrome open filter air cleaner, found one of those in my parts box. The car had the 396CI, 375 Hp with a Rochester 4 barrel and Muncie 4 speed. Had a lot of good times in that car. The original paint was Aztec Bronze, picked up a bottle of that from MCW Finishes. I had some problems with it, but I think it turned out ok. I think I replicated it as close as I can remember, it was a long time ago and I didn't have any photos of the car. All comments are welcome and thanks for looking.

Great looking color and the trim is all nicely done. Saw the interior in your build pictures and it also looked great. Had a very similar car in Danube Blue with Black guts.

Came out very nice James. I like replicas of formerly owned cars. Oh yeah. the first two cars I owned back in the day the first thing I did was put on chrome reverse wheels.

Nice, a car you rarely see.  When I was in college I remember a guy was selling a 66 four door in the Holden Beach area.  I haven't seen another 66 Impala since.

Nice IMPALA! My Dad had a 66 when I was a kid. The starter was bad so he would make the 4 of us kids push start it by popping the clutch. He also showed me how to upshift with out using the clutch just by matching the rpm.

This is a very sharp model, you really hit it out of the park. Aztec Bronze is beautiful on the big Chevies. Nostalgia builds tend to motivate us, don't they?! I really need to build my old '66, but I have so many projects begun ahead of it. Builds like this make me think "maybe I could bump it up just a notch or two..." Well done.

Great looking build, and attention to detail. I love to see people recreate a car they had. I have a couple pickups of mine "in the que". One of which is actually started,lol.
