Chariots of Fire Posted August 7, 2023 Posted August 7, 2023 Finishing touches were added to the build today. A fine amount of weathering was done here and there. Fire extinguisher added to the interior of the cab and two GI gas cans were mounted above the fuel tank. Electric and air brake lines are coiled up waiting for the next build which hopefully will be a Heil F2 2000 gallon tank trailer. 4
DRIPTROIT 71 Posted August 7, 2023 Posted August 7, 2023 Charles, your builds always amaze me. It is hard to believe that all of this was made from scratch. I wish that I had half of your talent. I have picked up a few pointers from you over the years though. This build looks awesome top to bottom! Excellent work all the way!
Jim B Posted August 7, 2023 Posted August 7, 2023 Fantastic looking old Autocar. Great details & weathering.
Dutzie Posted August 8, 2023 Posted August 8, 2023 Great looking build, Charles! Your skills are amazing!
GLMFAA1 Posted August 8, 2023 Posted August 8, 2023 Another fine masterpiece. I think the next game is 'Where did that part come from?' I like that the top of the AMT ALF Ladder chief hydraulic ladder cylinder cap is the front axle bearing cap. greg
hct728(Bob) Posted August 8, 2023 Posted August 8, 2023 So very realistic to the finest detail! Thanks for letting us in on the techniques used, and looking forward to the next phase of your build
Rattlecan Dan Posted August 8, 2023 Posted August 8, 2023 I'll tell my Grandkids about you. Probably the best model-making I've ever seen. Thanks for the show Charlie.

GLMFAA1 Posted August 8, 2023 Posted August 8, 2023 Well, when your model fire department has eight ladder companies the parts become very familiar. greg

XYHARRY Posted August 9, 2023 Posted August 9, 2023 Truely amazing. So realistic, even the canvas top has the correct texture with eyelets and tie downs. Charles, you are the quintessential master craftsmen. Thank you so much for sharing. Cheers, David. ??
