Can someone please tell me the correct color of blue can be used for "Color Me Gone" Dodge? I don't airbrush, so it needs to be a rattle can. Thanks!

Great work on those headlights. Much better than the straight chrome!

The kit is the AMT '62 Bel Air 409. I will not use the engine, obviously, but the interior tub fits nicely. I had to do a little trimming to the chassis around the fender wells, but not much.

Guys, I know this has been done a million times, but I was so pleased with the way the Chezoom chassis fits underneath the '62 Bel Air. The paint is fighting me, but at least now I've got motivation to do something about it!

It looks like you did a pretty good job "back in the day"! Have fun with this one! -
I agree - a kit that takes a ton clean up, but can be made into a nice model. Don't get in a hurry on this one!
-
Congrats on the new job!

That's the one! Thanks!! John

Does anyone remember a '74 Challenger kit that came out, probably in the mid 70's with a front clip like the Superbird? I just found mine in the attic and am starting to restore it, but it's a mess. I'm looking for ideas? Instructions? Thanks John

I don't think I've ever run across that one. Cool build!

Just for kicks I thought I'd show you my Firebird that I recently completed. After many, many years in our hot attic, I decided to resurrect it. But one of the tires had melted into the rear glass! So, what to do? I made it into a convertible, of course. Cut out the sunroof panels on the front windshield, fabricated a "trunk" and made a boot from scratch, based on some pictures I found on the world wide web. So don't throw those old kits out! Re-purpose them! Thanks for looking -John

Thanks. I've built '58's 3 different ways, and this was fun to build as a basic racer.

Wow. Where to start? The parts aren't numbered. Many times there isn't a positive location tab. They don't fit well. The instructions aren't clear. The mirrors are hard to assemble. The doors need to be massaged to even line up. How's that for starters? The good news is that you can really learn about your skills with this kit, and it is a really cool old school subject! Take your time and don't be afraid to start over if you think some parts aren't lining up. Thanks for the comments!

Thanks for the encouraging words!

Thanks!

I haven't built a truck in a long time, and can't believe I picked this one to start. I shelved it a number of times, but finally stuck it out long enough to call it finished. Yes, the doors do open, but I think I'll keep them in the closed position for now! Thanks for looking John

I finally finished this '58 Impala convertible with Buddy Baker's markings. This was a very fun build, and all started because I bought a kit with no glass. So I cut down a windshield from a '55 chevy truck, and added duct tape for a frame. On the Bench pictures can be found at http://www.modelcarsmag.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=91336&hl= I wrapped some sprue with yarn to make the roll bar. Thanks for looking! John

Poor fit does take away some of the FUN, but I'll keep plugging away. I think I'll start with those hinges.... Thanks

Guys: A short while ago I bought the Dodge L-700, the one with the flatbed and the '40 Ford Coupe. While I've been working on the cab, and the cab working on me (why won't those doors line up????) I put the other parts aside. But now that I'm working on the trailer I can only find 2 of the outer rims. Either I lost them somehow, or they weren't in the box to begin with. Has anyone else had that problem? Thanks John
