1320Wayne posted an exquisite build of this car and it got me off of my rump to finally build it as well. The kit is a Revell Chevy SS snap kit. The decals are from Patto's Place. I painted the body Bahama Blue, Black and Red, so that if there were gaps in the decals, they would be hidden some what. I lowered the suspension about 1/8" in front and back and I ground down the back of the wheels where the metal axle fits, so the tires would fit in and tuck under the wheel wells. I added some detail to the dash and scratch built the Shark Fin on the back glass. This is my third consecutive build with wrap decals and I am through with them for a while. Thanks for looking.

I have to (eat my words) lol regarding John Force
Jim N replied to NYLIBUD's topic in The Off-Topic Lounge
At my last job, there was a woman whose husband took up BASE jumping as a hobby. One day he went on a jump and either his parachute did not open or it opened too late. He fell to his death. In one instance this guy's wife was a widow and his children no longer had a father in their lives. It isn't necessarily the activity that the person insists on doing, but the people who are left behind when it all goes wrong. It's those who are entirely too selfish that put their loved ones in these situations because they will not walk away. They live for the adrenaline rush of that jump or that race and everything is awesomely awesome until it isn't. Then the person's survivors have to pick up the pieces. It is obvious John Force will drive until it's no longer any fun, he does not have a sponsor to pay the bills or he has the wreck he does not walk away from. I hope it's one of the first two. -
Great looking model. Your work is top drawer!

The only place that I know of that will likely have this sheet is Patto's Place. The link is below if you are not familiar with them. He carries almost all of the latest paint schemes. With this one being run just recently, it will likely be a bit before he has them available. A word to the wise though, the decals are not scaled to fit the Revell kits. They are scaled to fit the slot car bodies he sells and there are differences, particularly around the roof. At least that has been my experience with Chevy SS decal sets. You can ask him to not print some color. My suggestion would be to ask him not to print the black. This way you may be able to work around some of the fit issues. http://members.optusnet.com.au/pattosplace/home.html

I was in the insurance racket for a bit over 25 years, which doesn't mean much other than I have seen a few things. When a car insurance premium is this high for a rather vanilla car, it is a good indicator that something else is going on. Usually it's a husband or wife, boyfriend or girlfriend who is in the picture and this person has a terrible driving record or really bad credit. If there is nothing going on behind the scenes, she should really shop her coverage.

Tamiya TS-30 (Silver Leaf) and 'residue'

You might be spraying a little too far from the model. The way I am reading your comment is that the paint may be drying a bit before it hits the plastic. -

The future of Motorsports ?
Jim N replied to Mike 1017's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
I don't know how anyone will be able to program 2 - 3 dozen cars to race on a closed track. Doing the AI to mimic human thought is proving to be more difficult than the programmers will admit. Someone programmed a robot to build an Ikea chair. It took 20 minutes. It takes a person about 5 minutes to build the same chair.
