  1. A Buick Grand National or GNX. Gosh those black Regals looked sinister. Could have had one in the day, but would have really stretched the budget. Wife and I were newly married and she would have never gone for it anyway. Could probably get one now, but if we are going to spend that kind of money, a new car is the way to go instead of a toy. A 1986 - 87 Grand Prix 2+2 is another that I drooled over back in the day. That one was rare back then. I am not sure what they would price out at now. Pontiac built as few of them as they could so they could race them in NASCAR.
  2. Great job! Really superb work and detail. The comments from Rickover gave me a good chuckle. I remember in the 1980's Testor's came up with what they thought a stealth fighter should look like. Oh my gosh, there were congressional hearings over this on how a model company could get the plans for this plane and all sorts of drivel. Then the real stealth fighter is seen and the two looked nothing alike.
  3. Looks nice! Dirty and grimey just the way they would have been in the field.
  4. Nice looking model. Great job!
  5. A lot of great looking detail. You're off to a great start.

Great work. Like a lot of others, the color looks fabulous!
  7. Looks very nice. I like the choice of paint.
  8. Great job! You stuck it out and the model looks real nice. I agree with Oliver above, I would love to get my hands on one of those Matador kits.
  9. I do not have any regrets. There have been a number of kits I passed on buying, but I am sure I had valid reasons at the time. Yes, there have been some that when I looked back perhaps I should have pulled the trigger and bought them. But looking at my collection now, I am not sure what I would do with another 2 - 3 dozen kits or where I would store them.
  10. Very nice! My wife drove one of these when we started dating. It was a dog, but they all were back then. I think even the V8's were producing about 1/2 a horsepower per cubic inch.
  11. The one thing that I will never forget, since I live in fly over country was the large number of contrails in the sky all day long. Commercial aviation was grounded, so that was all military air traffic. That changed my perspective on many things in one short day.
  12. Your doing a great job! I am not a Star Trek fan by any means, so I was a bit surprised to see 3 building options on the decal sheet.
  13. Great job! I like the color. It would probably help if you took the pictures outside with the sun behind you. I have used color shifting paint in the past and it's the only lighting that photographs well. Below is what I am writing about. If this hijacks your thread, please let me know, and I will edit the post and delete the picture.

Great looking build. Love the color. I built one of these for my daughter a couple of years ago. She loves Corvettes. She could probably buy one if she really wanted to, but she did the responsible thing and bought a house instead.
  15. Looks great! I like your choice of color as well.
  16. Great job. Love the color. I always liked the look of these cars.
  17. At least the molds are in good hands. Some of these kits are getting hard to come by, and if they release them in small lots with decals that are attractive to the builders, they should do well.
  18. Looks very nice! Paint and decal work look very good.

  23. Bill Elliott's snake or Jimmie Johnson's Superman
