Alclad ALC101 over Tamiya fine white primer
935k3 replied to Michael jones's topic in Model Building Questions and Answers
It works fine over Tamiya's Fine Gray primer. I don't know why the white would be different. I like Alclads own gray primer under their paints. It goes on shiny and seals well. Also are sure the spoon was not crazed? I found the spoons very sensitive to crazing -
Fresh from Hobbylink Japan. Fujimi Porsche 911 Turbo RSR. Finally a decent kit of the car that was used to develop the road going 911 turbo. It finished second at the 1974 24hrs of Lemans.

Paasche TG#2L Double Action Gravity Feed Airbrush
935k3 replied to Matt T.'s topic in Model Building Questions and Answers
I have the Talon with all three tips. I would use the.66mm for bodies. Proper thinning is important. I do not use a ratio. I touch the mixer to the jar and see how quickly runs down the side of the jar. You need to search for a Paasche to Iwata adapter or Paasche to Grex which is what I use. I think Paasce's hose fittings are not that good(not enough threads) -
This is the Tamiya kit. The body was masked and airbrushed. Scratchbuilt parts include the airbox connecting fan to roof NACA duct, the fuel injection system and the towers and rings on the rear suspension which will connect to the scratchbuilt brake duct hose on the uprights. The chassis needs painting (aluminum) yet. The cooling slots under the molded in exhausts were opened, that was hard and had re make missing sections of exhaust. i am using the Tamiya photo etch set which includes brake rotors. This will have allot of wiring and hoses when finished.

It's still a good looking model. How did you deal withe position indicator on the windshield?

The Badger mixer is perfect for the job. I think it was designed not to splash paint. I can plunge right in the jar spinning and remove it still spinning without a splash. They can be had at AC Moore for about 7$ with coupon.
