Awesome job Curt. I ave to get around to doing mine. I have the newer issue with clear parts and Cartograf decals. Mine came with those decals on a separate sheet, I didn't know what they were for. That engine was beautiful. and you did a good job bringing it to life

Try to find some place in your area that sells Plastikote T-235 Gray Sandable Primer it's covers and sands very well and will protect from hotter paints used over it. If you are doing a brighter color coat like white,yellow red or orange etc. use Plastikote T-237 White Sandable Primer.

The M*r*b*r* issue has been going on for a long time now. People who sell them have to be very careful how they let you know they have them. Decals with Camel also have resorted to placing half of the name on one place on the sheet and the other half another place. Personally I believe as long as it is a legal product they should be able to advertise it. BTW i do not smoke. There is places on the net that have many name brand fonts including the Marlboro.ttf file which I have downloaded if you want to print them yourself.

I have seen this on another board. It looks as nice as a Tamiya kit. i hope they will be available in the USA. I have heard the price is around $35. I love that Focus.

About the the only thing you could use is Nail Polish Remover, make sure it is Acetone based.

Nissan Sylvia Impul Turbo Silhouette by Aoshima. Body is painted, getting the chassis ready for paint. Th ride height needed some lowering and work to make sure wheels were centered in openings. If you look at most Gr. 5 cars with 19" rear rims the top of the wheel should almost touch the wheel arch as do the box pictures of the real car.

I believe Tamiya recommends 15% Flat Base added to Gloss colors to make them Semi-Gloss.

Looks nice but keep an eye on the decals, they don't stick to bare plastic well and sometimes come off after time. I find this with window decals on race cars. I started putting some Future under them, it keeps them glued down well.

what car is that interior from? It looks familiar, I think it is the Nissan Skyline Super Silhouette by Aoshima. Do you have any finished pics? I'd love to see one built.

Forget the softener. Try a hot damp cloth pressed over the decal, it will set instsantly with no bubbles or wrinkles.

Check the Instruction for the Lowe's paint I would bet it says something like recaot with in an hour or wait 48 hrs or more. These paints will sometimes work and sometimes they will wrinkle when recoated. Unfortunately Krylon is now like this also. Krylon's old formula said recoat at anytime. These paints are enamel and paints that say recoat anytime are mostly laquers. Krylon's old white is the best white paint I have ever used, and I do allot of white based cars. The old formula can still be found in some older stores and if you can find a source it is now labelled for Industrial use.

You have a very smart son. I have been using Firefox for 6 years and have had far less problems with popups, spyware and viruses to name a few things. I will never switch back.
