  1. The TS-83 and TS-84 are like Alclad and are to sprayed over a gloss black base.
  2. I saw similar cars in IMSA GTP racing at the Glen and Poconos. I saw Holbert's Lowenbrau 962 and Hans Stuck driving the Coke 962. I also saw the Corvette GTP and the Group44 Jag to name a few. The Jag sounded more like a V8 even though it was a V12.
  3. The problem is that there are differences in the insulation thicknesses that make the same gauge wires vary.
  4. The Marlboro lettering is pretty easy to make with a printer and decal paper because it is all black lettering. The "Marlboro" style lettering is available as a Windows TrueType font, just do a search for marlboro.ttf and copy it to your C:\Windows\fonts folder then just print and size it as needed. It's allot harder with the newer Marlboro cars because of the white letters. I would not worry about the wing so much.
  5. Sorry I missed this one till now. Great job on a great racecar. F1 models can be some of the toughest models to build between fit issues and the complexity of the subject, which is why I have not done many even though I love these cars.
  6. You can watch WRC coverage at WRC.com
  7. I think allot of people who do not like sports car racing would think differently if they actually went to a race. But I will always believe allot of followers of the 800lb Gorilla(in the US only) are not really car enthusiasts and do not know allot about them. If we had to rely on that series for automotive develepmont we would not enjoy the quality and the mileage we get in today's cars. I still watch F1 not because the racing is all that but I love the cars and the tracks they race on. Someone on another board mentioned how boring WRC was because it was only one car at a time running. I thank God my dad took me to Watkins Glen to see the Mclaren Can-Am cars race and to see Jackie Stewart win a Grand Prix there, it surely shaped my love of these cars for life. There is far more to the sport than how many cars can run together in a group and then crash. By the way there is going to be a 6hr race for the ALMS at laguna Seca next year, it replaces the dumbing down of sportscar series(also known as Daytona Prototypes).
  8. Thanks everybody. Nick how about I decal one of your cars for the seminar? Just a thought.
  9. Just finished. WIP Thread is here Alfa 155 DTM
  10. Here is a link to an interesting scratch build for those are interested. He even made the body from fiberglass. It's a pretty long thread but worth it. Porsche 908
  11. Mistakes can be wiped off before drying and ammonia will remove dryed Tamiya acrylics without affecting the laquers.
  12. This has to be the best sounding Mercedes there ever was. I really miss these cars. Turn this one up!
  13. Nice job Terry, I can just see that cruising down the newly built(at that time) Autobahn. Nice piece of history to have.
  14. Get a dehydrator and put the painted part in it as fast as possible.
  15. Great work so far. For that a hump a good two part catalyzed putty like Dynacote or Evercoat would be the best thing as they do not shrink. Then just sand to shape.
  16. Here is the original thread Alfa 155 DTM Here is the new pics, it's ready for decals.
  17. Look for a hollow punch set at places like Harbor Freight.
  18. Thanks Don, Excellent tips very well done. I have replaced the needle bearings in the Badger 200 and the 175 Crescendo. Badger told me to push it out the front of the airbrush and to put the new one in from the front. I use a brass rod of the diometer of the hole in the body of the airbrush and gently tap out the old and in with the new. I always pulll the needle out of the front when cleaning because pulling out the back with dried paint tends to wear the seal out quicker.
  19. and one more pic
  20. Some progress made on this one.
  21. You want to use Testor's Jet Exhaust or Alclad Pale Burnt Metal. They both must be airbrushed. I like to use it over a very bright silver base and light enough that the shine of the silver shows through. The bluing and yellowing is done with Tamiya's weathering set "D"
  22. I line mine with the white freezer paper meant for wrapping meats. You can get it any grocery store. You just change it out with new once and awhile.
  23. Read this Renault Scandal
  24. New release from Tamiya Tamiya 20059
  25. This story is getting uglier all the time. I find it hard to believe that a driver would suggest to do such a thing. It's more likely tht he was afraid of losing his job if he didn't do it. Renault scandal.
