  1. Darn! I'm just going have to work harder on my skills as a hypnotist. And here I thought I getting pretty good at too!
  2. Here a couple ''40 Fords for you guys to see. One is the 1/25 scale Lindberg '40 Ford Deluxe coupe. The one that comes with the Dodge L-700 truck and flatbed trailer. The other is AMT's Three Stooges '40 Ford sedan delivery, that a couple of years ago. I hope you like them.
  3. Just finished this in the last hour or so. I think it turned out okay. It Lindberg's 1/25 scale '40 Ford Deluxe coupe. The one that comes the Dodge L-700 and flatbed trailer. Not a bad kit. Again, as I've noted before, the kit is similar to the AMT '40 Ford Deluxe coupe kit. The real major difference is the wheels mount. I found them a little hard to set up. I much prefer AMT's setup with the old metal axles. Say what you like, they look and work just fine for me. Again be obsessive compulsive the way I am, I went ahead and ordered two more 1/25 scale '40 Ford Deluxe coupe model kits today. One is the latest AMT reissue. The old classic. The other, the recently reissued MPC snap kit. I'm going to need a little body putty to fill in holes, to build that close to stock.
  4. Let's see how good of a hypnotist I am? Dennis. Listen closely. Your getting very sleepy ?. Sleepy. Are you asleep? Good. Now listen up. You hate Mercury Cougars. Especially 1967 Cougars. In fact you hate them so much, you need to get rid of the above model kit. And send it to your new best friend. The person you worship. Scott Aho. Old Uncle Scott. He'll take that horrible Cougar off your hands. Repeat after me. Send AMT '67 Cougar kit to Scott. Send AMT '67 Cougar kit to Scott. Just keep repeating that, and soon you'll feel better. Much better......... O'boy, I hope that works! At the same time, I will not be holding my breathe waiting for Dennis to follow through. I don't why? I am a great hypnotist, and all around great guy!
  5. The last one I built, I painted it black and gave it Gotham City license plates.
  6. Insignificant to you maybe. But, there a lot of us out there who still like the car. It only been released in kit form one time. Back in 1967. The dies were then updated to a '68. And where to from there, who knows? I'd love to get my hands on a '67 Cougar GT model kit. I like Motor Trends Car of the Year for 1967. The Cougar. It didn't seem insignificant to them at the time.
  7. Looks pretty good.
  8. Why is it a very bad kit? It looks like it turned out okay.
  9. I think Monogram got most of Aurora's old molds.
  10. Still I'm glad I got mine when I did. I really dislike content change in any kit. I tend to like kits in their first runs for that reason. This why I'm delighted when Round 2 restores their kits as close to the original version as possible. And putting in Chevy Small Block in anything other than a Chevy should be crime. Again, the Chevy Small Blocks are one the great engines, in real life, ever designed. But, it's been put in way too many model kits over the years. A few weeks ago, I bought a late release of Monogram's '32 Roadster. The one based on the original Little Duce kit. The Little Duce originally came with a Pontiac mill. Cool! A few years later they modified the tool to now have a Chevy Small Block in it? Why? The Pontiac was at least something different. I can't imagine that they thought that substituting a Pontiac motor for Chevy would increase sales? At that time I don't think that many kids really cared. As long as it had a V-8. No, they should not mess with the original content of any kit. The changes Revell has made to its '40 Ford kits, forced me to look for first editions of those kits recently. I didn't like the changes to the later releases. By the way, there are one or two exceptions to my feelings on this. The one kit that comes to mind right away is Revell's '76 Torino. There were several thing I disliked about the original release of that kit. Mainly that it could not be stock. Only as the Starsky and Hutch car. The way I wish they would have released it originally, was so it could built as a stock Torino. Or the TV car. As long as it could only be built as the TV car. I stayed away from the kit. Any how. Off of my soapbox for now. Feel free to agree or disagree with me as you wish. I okay with that.
  11. Man! Is that scary. Not everything back in the 70's good.
  12. Kool! I too really like the door handles. A nice touch.
  13. Go for it. It is a fun kit. Funky grille. But, that's what caught my attention in the first place. Making me to want to build it.
  14. Both 'cudas look great.
  15. Very nice models. All of them. But, being a big Buick fan, I especially appreciate the Riv and Electra.
  16. On the Customized Corvette box art, I like the expressions of the all people in that scene. Everybody really does not look all that happy or impressed with the car. Except the guy kneeling next to the car with the trophys. And his expression looks like he can't believe he sucker the judges into giving him another one!
  17. The box art is better than the actual model. By far!
  18. Wow! A very nice bunch of '40 Fords. I especially like the ones you did based on the box art. Very cool ?. Very old school.
  19. Boring maybe? But not really bad. The kit and how it's been built look pretty good to me.
  20. Here are two more bad ones. Actually the art work on the Customized Corvette is not bad. It's the car itself that ruins that one.
  21. More good box art. Being old Lindberg, I question how good the kit may be. But, I do like to box.
  22. Now that I can upload photos to this site, here is one I finished recently. It's Lindberg's 1/25 scale '32 Ford Hot Rod * Voiture Dynamisee. Kit #72165. A very old kit. Originally designed to be motorized. Low in any real detail. Yet I like it. In fact I like it a lot. It's got a nice old fashion, old school Hot Rod feel to it, that works for me. By the way, several early Hot Rods and Hot Rod model kits had hoods similar to what is seen on this model. Does anybody know what was behind the design of these hoods? A few of us were speculating, that it might have been done that way to get around state and local laws that required some sort of hood on a vehicle. Not my favorite look. Nor am I big fan of cycle fenders. But, since I haven't built a lot of kits with either feature, I decided to go with them on this kit. And I do like them on this kit.
  23. The engine from the '30? I hope not. One of the nice things about the '29 was having the Buick Nailhead in it. The '30 had a Very nice Small Block Chevy. But, it was a Small Block Chevy. And there are plenty of kits out there already with a Small Block Chevy in them. So I'm hoping the reports of kit coming back without the Nailhead are not true. And if they are, I'm glad I bought my '29 in its first time out.
