  1. The Caddy and DM '58 Bonneville side by side.
  2. Go for it Gary, they pretty much nailed it all but the top and some whitewalls. I'm gonna look through my stash for those. I'd love to put some Cadillac wires on it like from an FM '53 Caddy but finding those may be a chore lol.
  3. Rich, I had to disassemble it, six screws and it was apart. there are 4 heat melted tabs holding the roof in place, 2 at the rear and 2 in the sunvisors. I ground them off and viola, topless lol. I will cover those holes in the sunvisors with some black vinyl cut to fit the sunvisors. I do have one of the '59 Caddy customs and it is pretty much dead nuts 1/24 as well. It fits well with my custom car collection.
  4. I just got it today and I have several more mods to do to it but here's where I'm at so far. Blackwashed the grille, removed the top obviously lol, added a better antenna, the one on the model was a rubber stub. After looking at the body lines for a convertible boot I don't know if there is an existing model that would have the right contour along the edge of the trunklid, any ideas guys? If not I may have to hand make a hard boot for it out of styrene. Size is really about spot on, parked next to my '58 Bonneville convertible it's about an 1/8" longer in length, the Caddy measures 9", the Bonneville 8-7/8" widthwise is almost identical as is ht. just in case you were wondering if it really is 1/24. Plus it's all we have if you want a long sought after '58 in your collection. If you'd like pics of them side by side I can do that too. Thanks for your interest.[;)][:)]
  5. I sure will Gary, I was planning on checking it out myself lol.
  6. I agree Rich, most JADA models don't appeal to me for their goofy shapes but quite a few are spot on with the Mint counterparts I have such as the '56 Chevy, '60 Impala, '53 Chevy Bel Air & pick up truck, '61 Impala, '59 Caddy and the '39 Chevy Sedan delivery.. the '56 cv. is one of my favorites, it's pretty much dead nuts on FM's version. So much so that I think they may have used FM's old tooling.
  7. I've got one ordered to see what it's like then I'll decide on if I want a second one to repaint and do a full detail. I'll leave this one as is. It's supposed to arrive on Saturday. '58 is my favorite 50's Caddy and this is the only one in 1/24. Just released by JADA.
  8. WOW, that's a beauty Ken, I love the '70, a very classy design.
  9. Super sweet build Tom.
  10. Sure looks sinister in black, I dig it.

  12. Here's a print with all factory colors for the Superbird. Not to say there weren't any special ordered back in the day, that is very possible.
  13. I'll be watching as well, I love this body style. I have one in my stash also.
  14. Really nice build. I have a JL diecast of one in this color I converted to a Hemi car by kitbashing it with a scrap FM 'Cuda..

  16. DROOL!!!!!!!!!!
  17. Thanks JT, it was a fun conversion. The Punisher GTO I'm working on is a diecast build as well. It's a kitbash between a scrap DM GTO and the Testors/Lincoln Mint GTO. I've done several diecast rebuilds and love doing them also. Cool display Rich.
  18. Cool, a well used VW, I like it.

    My 71 Duster

Way cool David, I love the Dusters.
  20. This is a great model, I've built the GSX to go with my diecast '70 Judge and 442 since it is 1/24 and am going to do the next one as a GS.
