  1. Received these today from Jack Modeling (France) via ebay: very fine spoke wheels with 5 (!) different sets of center locks. As my first order got lost in the mail, he sent me a second one (+ additional seatbelt buckles and exhaust pipes for free !) - Oh, I forgot to mention that these are available in 8 different sizes (from 14" up to 21") The set consisted of 7 (!) wheels and 5 to 6 each of 5 different centers! I can't say if this is a precaution because the material might be brittle and prone to breaking if not handled carefully enough (I can't say because I never have worked with 3 D parts until now) . Anyway, the price of € 5,50 is unbeatable - here is a link : https://www.ebay.de/sch/i.html?_dkr=1&iconV2Request=true&_blrs=recall_filtering&_ssn=jack_modelling&_oac=1 Here are some pics taken just now (what you see is what I got): Here is a direct comparison with Aoshima's MGB spoke wheels: You may want to give him a try - he also offers other wheels and detailing parts !
  2. Received a set of delicate 3D-printed resin spoke wheels from France: Will open a topic in the aftermarket section with more details.
  3. Very nice, Gary - a truly seldom seen racing car for your Le Mans collection. Very noticeable are those distinctive Ford Cortina taillights.
  4. Watching your extremely convincing detailing, Pierre, I'm almost regretting that I sold this kit - it looked too primitive. But you prove again what can be made of this - excellent oil-cooler detail for example.
  5. Peugeot 203 P/U dated 1956 from the French Hachette series: the 4 dr. sedan was built between 1948 and 1960, and during this time several deviations were produced, among them the P/U. (Peugeot made also PU's of the following 403, 404 and 504 models)
  6. Great find, Bill - this is from the Leo Models/Hachette "Alfa Romeo Centenary Collection" (2010) - the later reissue has golden wheels, but is the same otherwise - it was reissued in 2014 in the Italian "Auto vintage de Luxe" Collection with a sturdy Plexi cover - sold as newsstand models in Italy, both made by Ixo:
  7. Oh my god - this is museum quality - excellent!
  8. Great looking '59ers - can't say which I would like best.
  9. Very well done, Mario - base looks great also.
  10. A real good -looking 962 in Blaupunkt livery !
  11. Excellent Bruce, you hardly can tell it from the real one!
  12. Excellent build Rich - the 33 as well as the 25 - the world championship winning cars of my all-time favorite racing driver! (I have both in my stash and hope the results will be at least half as good as yours)
  13. Good-looking Porsche in a classic 70/80's sponsor livery, Ray - we didn't expect such a model from you (where is the Ford engine?)
  14. Super nice work on this classic Alfa (I'm glad I got 3 of them for normal prices when they were released)
  15. My stash of unbuilt car kits at the moment is 291 (among them are 12 transkits): 205 are 1/24, 67 are in 1/25 (Mainly US cars and trucks), 13 are 1/20 racecars and the remaining 6 are 1/18 Tamiya racecars. Over the last 3 years I have sold off about 60 kits, and want to downsize still more (to about under 200), as my interests have changed over the last 40 years to mainly sports race and rally cars - here are parts of them: Several 100 books and hundreds of magazines are useful references: as some others here stated, researching a certain object (internet, library) before starting to actually build the model is for me an interesting, entertaining and essential part of the hobby - I can browse for hours on a certain subject - is as much fun as building itself. Then there are about 265 1/24 die-casts from which many of them will be altered, repainted and modified into competition versions... From 1982 to 1991, I built about 170 to 180 kits - then the family grew, and for the next nearly 30 years output was almost zero (but still buying kits) - now only selected models will be bought, main goal is thinning out the collection because I still see myself as a builder, not a collector and I'm running out of time.
  16. Excellent model, Anders - in a very unusual color. The "Principauté of Monaco" (residence of the rich and super-rich) license plate is absolutely fitting here ! Therefore it must the latest reissue of this kit (I have the original issue in my stash) which seems to have different tires - at least they look different, mine are the same as in Italeri's Ferrari 250 and 275 kits - though both are too wide. Great combo together with the later Roadster ! I plan my gullwing in dark grey like you did your Roadster, and the open car in a light metallic green with dark green uphostery (I read some time ago that a few were produced in this rare combination).
  17. Looks good, Gary - another great model for your Le Mans collection!
  18. Excellent engine plate, Pierre - it raises the bar very high and brings this model to a whole new level !
  19. Thanks, Gary - I just realised that the Peterbilt (snap) doesn't belong here - it is 1/25.
  20. While these are long gone, here are a few that I still keep in my possession:
  21. excellent models, Gary - my favorite has to be the 1965 (?) GT 40 Roadster !
  22. In the mid 80's I built about 20 Monogram kits - many of them already shown here, some not:
  23. I saw it here in Austria today for € 25,00 a piece. May give it a try.
  24. Gary, look what I found yesterday (!) on pinterest: exactly this car in a really bright red - as you can see, my red is much too dark:
  25. Once again a fantastic model, Pierre - with your usual marvellous paint and incredible attention to the finest detail !
