Alan Moffat 1969 Boss Trans Am Mustang
1959scudetto replied to Dave B's topic in Other Racing: Road Racing, Salt Flat Racers
Very fine model, David - a lot of work must have gone into this ! -
From ebay Italy 2 Lancias from the 70's: 1/25 Mebetoys Lancia Beta Coupé (silver, first series 1973 - 75) and 1/25 Polistil Lancia (Beta) Montecarlo (green, first series 1975 - 78) - mostly complete, the Beta is missing its Giro d'Italia bicycle race equipment, but will be turned into a rally version, the Montecarlo is missing its wipers:

Absolutely fantastic model, Gary ! - my very first (and favorite) JoHan model kit.

Pierre, I was thinking in a similar way (I have this in my stash) and will possibly use the wheels from Academy/Minicraft's 250 LM (outlaced spokes at the front, correct wheel and tire size). The 1964 version had an elongated body (especially at the rear) and the windshield has a not-so-steep rake, IIRC. But Ferrari used this '63 body version also in 1964 - I can't await what you are doing with it - we certainly will see a marvellous model again.

The wheels are definitely too flat, but look at the other extreme : Monogram (ex-Aurora) DB 4 gluebomb (will be restored)

Very nice, Janos - these Royales must be very impressive in reality - I happened to see one 15 years ago in Vienna at the "Chrome jewels" exhibition in the technical museum. I think it was on loan from the Mulhouse collection in France:

Your Approach to Building?
1959scudetto replied to Calb56's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Exactly my thoughts, Pierre - I can fully dive into an object that ignites my passion (mainly sports and race cars from the 50's to the 70's) whereas finishing a model that does not really interest me can be a real pain (this is why it took me more than 20 years to finish that commission-built '48 Chevy). Running your imagination wild and then researching different variations of a car using various sources is also important and adds a lot to the fun of modeling. -
Very nice !

How big is your... stash?
1959scudetto replied to Pierre Rivard's topic in Model Building Questions and Answers
I have sold off 26 of my 1/25 and 6 of my 1/24 kits in the last 2 weeks. -
Very nice Rich - these are some of the best-looking F1 cars ever and you did them justice ! I would like to see your whole race car collection... I have the original Clark 49 (and Rindt's 49 C/ Monaco 1970 winner) in my stash, so at least I do not have to backdate a later version - I wonder when I will find time to get to them. Moreover, the original 49 should urgently be reissued by Ebbro!

Makes a huge difference, Tim - I was tempted to buy this model some years ago, but it was offered as Franklin Mint (?)
-
Much better than the original spoke wheels, Tim !
-
Nice looking power beetle.

You did it again, Pierre ! Excellent model which puts mine to shame (needs a heavy rework). Superb paint and decal work - as always - and perfect wheels and tires ! -

Well done, Mario - it captures the spirit well, and the paint looks close enough for me.
