Great model, Rich - Mario Andretti would have deserved winning Le Mans too. -

Outstanding build, Gary - with the background, it almost looks real. -
Fantastic models, Steve - can't decide which one I like more: purple or light green metallic
-
Excellent woody, Mario - should cruise along a Californian beach....

It doesn't have to be shiny.....

Well deserved award, RRR - proves my statement that speed and durability win races, not high-gloss paint jobs ! -
Thank you Al, Chris and Philippe!

Excellent job - as always, Anders ! I really like the color combination which looks period-correct - did you use flocking for the interior ? If you had not pointed out that there have been warping issues, nobody would have known this. I have that also in my stash for more than 30 years

Very nice build and paint, Misha - especially well detailed interior !

Hi Bob, I used superglue on my build (and styrene glue for the plastic parts) - I'm not sure if this was the right choice because when taking the model out of the storage box after more than 30 years, the whole tank filler unit (white metal) fell out of the plastic body... I will probably have to seperate the body from the chassis for regluing this (maybe this time with a gel-type of superglue or with 5.-minute-epoxy.)

1963 Alfa Romeo Giulia TZ - what if ?
1959scudetto replied to 1959scudetto's topic in Diecast Corner
Thanks, Gary - this is a fictitious car (the 1/18 Tecnomodel Giulietta coda tronca from LeMans 1963 gave me the inspiration for this) -
1963 Alfa Romeo Giulia TZ - what if ?

Thank you, Bill - yes, it is 1/24. -
Absolutely superb Bel Air, John !

Another die-cast from the "Alfa Romeo Centenary Collection" the Alfa Giulia TZ (later renamed TZ 1 - after the TZ 2 came out) - made by IXO. What if... Scuderia Filipinetti (Swiss racing team from 1962 - 1973) had bought a TZ in 1963 and had taken part in the 1963 Tour de France de l'Automobile? It probably would have looked like this: red with their typical white stripe, additional Marchal lights and a fine steel tube for the exhaust were added, the race numbers came from the winning Ferrari 250 GTO (Colorado decals), Filipinetti decals from my spares. Here it is race-ready (fictitious):

1959scudetto replied to 1959scudetto's topic in Diecast Corner
Thanks, Gary - this is the Leo models/Alfa Romeo Centenary version (in blister package) - I have also one of the Hachette "Auto Vintage collection" series (red, in a sturdy plexiglass box) - both from Italy. -

Thank you CL - could you please explain " a 2.0 stroker. It and 26R work " to me? -
Thank you Sonny - back then I did this with several kits: brushing clear enamel directly on the plastic body - but: the enamel coat has yellowed over the course of time which was no problem with red, dark red, dark blue or yellow bodies - white ones would turn into an ugly tan color.

Thanks, Anders and James for your comments.

Thansk Carl and Chris - my builds are all stored away in empty boxes.

Thank you Anders, James and Greg !

Ford Escort RS1600 - Belkits
1959scudetto replied to MarcoTJ's topic in Other Racing: Road Racing, Salt Flat Racers
Perfect model, Marco - very nice rendition of Timo Mäkinen's winning Escort (first win in a row of three) - I have 3 of these in my stash - one will be built as an Alan Mann racing car (Frank Gardner's winning car of the 1968 BTCC)
