  1. Well done Jaguar in a quite unusual color!
  2. Well done model of the 1985 runner-up of the Portugal rally, Patrick! Makes me want to take mine out of the stash and start building.
  3. Some years ago I found these pictures on the internet - possibly the role model for the cream-colored version: cream/ivory color with dark green wheels and green (although lighter) interior:
  4. One of Pininfarina’s most famous designs, built in 1954-55 (only 240 pcs., 50 of them are lying on the bottom of the Atlantic ocean when the steamer “Andrea Doria” sank after a collision with another ship in 1956 with these on board, destined for the USA). Whereas the 1:1 cars demand prices of about $ 1000000 or more at auctions, these 1/24 diecasts are available for little money: the cream-colored one is from the Italian Quattroruote series from 2008/2009, whereas the silver example is from the Auto vintage deluxe collection that started also in Italy in 2013 – both are made by Ixo and are very well proportioned (the metallic grey one has a too glossy red interior which should be toned down) – I only added Italian and French license plates to them – otherwise they remain untouched. On to the pics (shot 3 hrs. ago):
  5. Hi, Robert - the Centenary collection (scale 1/24) is made by Ixo and distributed by Hachette only at newsstands in Italy. It started in July 2010 (Celebrating 100 years of Alfa Romeo) and issued 30 models over a 60-week period. 10 years ago you could find every model for small money on ebay - now they have become pretty expensive and sometimes hard to find. Here is a link from a Spanish website which shows pictures of every model of the series (text is in Spanish): http://diecast24.blogspot.com/2016/05/alfa-romeo-coleccion-centenario.html
  6. Very nice model in your trademark colors, Ken !
  7. Very nice model of a not-so-easy kit ! (I had the '73 Gordon Johncock STP version, but never got to it and finally sold it)
  8. Super, Mario - these realistic-looking finishes is what we are expecting from you - looks great as always !
  9. Very well done kit - with all those opening panels, it is a rather difficult to build model (I know, I built mine in the mid-80's)
  10. Perfect model and paint - could be from a Porsche calendar or sales brochure!
  11. Very nice, Anders - looks like the real one in a sales brochure.
  12. For those of you who are not aware what a Lancia Aurelia B 20 Coupé should look like - here it is (internet picture):
  13. You're welcome,Gary - I was eagerly awaiting the Jaguar Mk X , but after the desaster with the Lancia I thought to myself forget these !
  14. Attention, you serious modelers and collectors out there - I have also been tempted by the 1/24 TinTin series and ordered myself the Lancia Aurelia B20 coupé more than 2 years ago via ebay from France for about 50$ + shipping. Whereas the original is one of the all-time classic GT cars, the model is a bad joke - I sold it off 2 years ago - but before I wrote a small description about this on the FerrariChat site and posted a few photos (in comparison with my excellent 1/24 Quattroruote/Hachette/Ixo B24 spiders) Here it is - FYI: Unfortunately the Lancia B20 coupe scales out in most dimensions more to 1/22 scale than 1/24, and the wheelbase is also not correct for neither scale. I wanted to turn it into a Carrera Panamericana race car with Pattos decals but this would result in a lot of work: chopping the top, making the roof more round (is much too flat !) correcting the wheelbase and reworking the hood. For a size comparison see my pic with Leo models' 1/24 B24 Spider! A bad surprise came as soon as I disassembled it: there are no holes in the hood for fixing the guy but 2 metal tubes protruding from it which are cast with the body ! How silly is that? Moreover, I took some shots showing the difference in size compared with the wonderful Metro/Ixo Aurelia B 24 Spider from the Quattroruote series which has a perfectly proportioned body and is true to 1/24 scale, the coupè looks like a truck (this time both models without the base-plate) - final result: body needs a lot of work - interior is almost useless as are the generic wheels... Don't say you have not been warned - I also took pics from the dasboard and the sparse interior as well as the bottom plate - but see yourself!
  15. Thanks, Gary - the main issue of this model is the wheels - spoke wheels aside, the tires look too fat for 1950, although they have a nice tread. But the tire lettering is definitely NOT period correct - way too large!
  16. From the Italian 1/24 Hachette F1 collection: the winner of the very first F1 GP with the 1950 World Champion at the wheel: Nino Farina's Alfa Romeo Alfetta tipo 158 from the British GP at Silverstone, May 1950:
  17. Fantastic collection, Rich - for me one of the all-time highlights on the board since I entered . Hard to pick a favorite, but the 2F, Sunoco 512M and the 512 longtail are my favorites here (Probably because I have them in my own stash... :-)
  18. Superb model of this awesome one-off sculpture of a car!
  19. Wow, that is looking good - I have a X-EL promo (former JoHan) that I bought in the 80's and detailed and repainted it, but this doesn't come any close to your model!
  20. Good looking conversion, Mario!
  21. Very nice build, Gary ! (My only - built - Fisher kits to date were the 312 P Spiders shown in another thread)
  22. Fantastic build !!!
  23. Well done, Bill - this turned a toy into a model!
  24. 1959scudetto

    MGB-GT

Very attractive model of this British classic - did you have any issues with the transkit (I have it also in my stash)?
