  1. Thank you Gary - I used several decals from a second sheet and applied them over the first (they were not very opaque) - especially the "Pierlant Imperial" let the yellow (!) paint shine through. Thank you, Carl !
  2. Thank you, Brian - this was a variety to all the semi-trucks !
  3. Thank you, Tom - I cought this "Special interest version" a few years before it has been reissued again. Thanks, Hector - the doors work, but I keep them closed all the time.
  4. Superb model and outstanding photography !!!
  5. You are right, Patrick - there are similarities! Thank you, Anders !
  6. David, fantastic - the ultimate leadsled!!!
  7. Thanks, Doug ! Thank you, Chris - I would build it differently today - inspired by several models here on the forum - but I will keep this one as it is.
  8. Thanks, James! Thanks, Warren - that proves again that Autocars were strong and tough :-)
  9. Looks good, Brian - especially the windshield wipers that replaced those oversize kit parts ( I intend to do the same with mine).
  10. WOW, Charles - this looks as realistic as it gets - or is it real metal? - A little more dirt on the trailer tires (as on the forklift), and nobody can tell if it is real one or a scale model!
  11. Very nice, Rich - which interior did you use (the X-EL promos at least didn't have one) ?
  12. built in 1984, out-of-the-box, cab/hood brush-painted, dumper body sprayed with Revell matte grey enamel . My very first try on weathering a vehicle (using Revell matte light brown and matte clear from the spray-can) lets it look like a brand-new truck after its first working day on a muddy construction site... (At least this is one of the few that has survived several moves undamaged...)
  13. Absolutely outstanding workmanship, David - I would have thought that this conversion was a factory stock model!
  14. Thank you, Sam ! Thank you, Patrick - Batman's choice for Saturday night cruising? Thanks, Chris !
  15. Looks good Warren - very pleasing color combination - inspires me!
  16. Thank you, Dennis !
  17. Thanks for the compliments, Rusty. Dark metallic green with turquoise and white interior sounds like a great combination. On my next build, I will fill the sink marks and drill 4 holes into the front so that I can make recessed headlights (as with the real car). Thanks, Lee !
  18. Thank you. Bruce - it was built straight out of the box without extra detailing.
  19. Thanks, Larry !
  20. My thoughts, exactly - it looks like fresh from the factory - wonderful model with nicely blended-in bodyparts from different vehicles !
  21. By the way, I found a picture on the net of my childhood '59 T-Bird - it was a soft vinyl toy car with 2 passengers on the front seats and a dog on the back seat - practically indestructible - available from 1963 onwards, made by Tomte-Laerdal of Norway (scale must be about 1/43) - I had the orange one : ideal for the sandpit!
  22. Thank you, Craig! Thanks, Glen ! Thanks, Tom ! Thank you, Ray - the doors fit quite well, but with my next one maybe I will glue them shut.
  23. Thanks, Terry ! Thank you, David - i had this color at hand back then (the black interior is unpainted, bare plastic with touches of white, applied with a tooth-pick). I've got a second one (2002 issue) which will be painted in coral red with an interior in the same color; this time I will also fill some sink marks (behind the front wheels) with putty, a job I left out the first time... Thank you! Thanks, Gareth - I've got a crush on these "Squarebirds" since my childhood.
  24. Thank you Kurt - good to know that one has to pay attention to warped hoods (as soon as I start building my own Daytonas) - this one has not been built by myself, I only repaired a few things and replaced some missing parts. The laurels should go to the former owner/modeler of this kit: his detailing with plug wires was the reason for me to save this one instead of cannibalizing it. Thank you Gareth - this is one of the all-time classics (among many others) from Ferrari!
  25. Thank you very much for the compliments, Spence !
