  1. Look at that interior!! Sweet!
  2. That is a gorgeous Vette, Randy!
  3. Work is complete on the interior. I thought I would share some WIP pictures. Here is the original kit part, it is a center console. I tried to do some detail painting, but the results were unacceptable. I bought a variety of switches from ESS Resinworks. I primed and painted them. I removed all of the molded on kit part details and installed the ESS Resinworks items. I also cut small squares from sheet styrene and painted them clear orange to simulate warning lights. It is not prototypically correct, but it looks so much better. I am always disappointed to see molded in items that would be so much better as separate pieces. I masked the fire extinguisher and shot it red.. Next were the electronic boxes. There was no way that I would be able to mask them. I cut out pieces from .010” sheet styrene and sized them to each electronic box. I then removed all molded on detail from the kit boxes. I painted my sheet styrene “covers” in three different colors for visual interest. I glued them on the appropriate electronic box and added details as needed. The decals are just random spares that I had. That is it for now. I’ll post the 6 point race harness that I made and the completed interior next time. Thanks for checking in. Comments, suggestions, and critiques are welcome.
  4. Outstanding model, Nick! Lots of great details on it. I’m glad that you stuck with it and finished it. Thanks for sharing!
  5. Very nice, Harold! Such a great car and such a great model.
  6. She turned out great, Michael! Thanks for the detailed write up. I have quite a few of Hasegawa’s F3000 kits including this one. It is nice to see one built up and read about someone else’s experience with the kit.
  7. Hang on, Greg, let me go pop some popcorn, because I’m going to be following this one!
  8. Absolutely gorgeous!
  9. That Olds is drop dead gorgeous!
  10. So elegant! A beautiful model of a beautiful car!
  11. What a pleasure it has been to follow along on this build. The final result is sublime! Congratulations!
  12. That is too cool!
  13. Wow!, what a beautiful color! That outside picture is the money shot for me. Very nice, Jim!
  14. Ol’ DW! Good looking Monte Carlo, Kevin!
  15. I have all of the external (body) PE grills, etc. prepped and painted. There are 15 pieces with approximately 40 attachment points that needed to be filed down. Something that I thought was kind of neat when I saw it. This is a picture of the leftover Tamiya tape that I used to hold the PE pieces in place while I airbrushed them. I have also started on some interior details. I painted the roll cage semi-gloss black, masked off the padding and then shot a metal color. The effect is subtle, but your eye will catch it. I will work on the racing harness next. Thanks for checking in!
  16. Doggone, Jim, that is one sweet ride!
  17. I’m not sure that I can add anything to what has already been said. She is just one great looking model! Well done!
  18. Great color choices on the exterior and the interior. Everything works so well together. Nice job!
  19. Great looking Ferrari, Justin!
  20. Sitting here in my sunroom with a cup of coffee and just went through this entire thread. I’m loving your thoroughness on all aspects of this build. After all of my years in this hobby I still get impatient and find that I have to slow myself down. Your attention to detail is admirable! I’m looking forward to seeing your next update.
  21. Very, very nice!
  22. I am really having trouble with posting from my laptop. In all of my years on the forum I’ve never had this issue. It is very disheartening to spend a fair amount of time writing up descriptions and adding photos to only have your post not go through. I am going to try posting from my iPad. I may try to multiple small posts instead of one larger one. First up are the rotors. In the PE detail up set you can literally build all four rotors from PE. I started doing this, but unfortunately some of the rotor pieces were bent in shipping. I decided to go with the kit supplied PE rotor faces. I did a little weathering on them. I’ve got some tires and wheels to mount to those rotors. The wheels have two small OZ Racing decals. The wheel, hub, and wheel nut are separate colors. The valve stems are molded in place and I just picked them out. I added some PE to the steering wheel. I added two push buttons to the steering wheel and I made a coiled cable. That will do for now. Thanks for checking in. Comments, suggestions, and critiques are welcome.
  23. She’s a beauty, Ken! You have done a great job on her.
