  1. I tend to make notes on the kit instructions. If I use a different color or my own mixture, I will write the name of the paint by the part. Not always, just sometimes. On easy, less complicated builds, I do not keep any type of journal. However, I have done one detailed, commissioned build and I kept a journal with the date, time spent and notes of what was done. I am in the process of building the battleship Bismarck, (1:350), with wooden decks and two massive PE/resin/brass detail sets. I am keeping track of all of the things listed above. It is purely to keep an accurate track of how much time I've spent on this project.
  2. I like this. I would imagine we've all been there at one point or another. Many things that others have said ring true for me. I have all of my models on an Excel spreadsheet. I have had my wife and two kids each pull a single digit number out of a hat and use a combination of those numbers to select my next project. I have seen other modelers builds and used that as inspiration. Sometimes a new kit jumps right to the front of the line.
  3. Very nice, Tyler. Great color combo and stance. I really like "the look" of it.
  4. Nice, clean model. Nice, clear pictures. What's not to like? Great job!
  5. ABC's World News Tonight ran a short spot on this tonight. It showed her getting her first batch/bundles of cards. It was a nice, touching, story.
  6. Gorgeous, gorgeous, gorgeous.....I love the graphics on all three!
  7. I'll play. I have posted these before. I am proud of this room because I did all of the work myself. This was a bare, concrete floor, block wall corner of my basement where I first started back in the hobby. I would hang a blanket from the floor joists just to try to keep some heat in my hobby area. Heat in and dryer lint out....lol I made it a hobby room / Earnhardt shrine. I have added a few more kits since these pictures were taken. It is my escape area and I love to spend time down there.
  8. That is a nice looking Z, Bruce. A real eye catcher!
  9. Roger......how cool is your place!!! I hope you can get it all set back up. Way to nice to be stuck in storage..
  10. Wow, Jason, that interior looks GREAT!! Nice attention to detail.
  11. Beautiful model, Eric!
  12. This is not my genre or era of modeling, but I appreciate fine craftsmanship and overall cool model builds. This one has so many great things going on..... Beautiful and creative work, Eric. What is the next show that you are attending? I would love to see it in person.
  13. Oh yeah, I like everything about this one! Great job.
  14. Looks like you are off to a great start!
  15. Let me pile on with the accolades . What an eye-catcher! The great photography really captures the nice work you have done on this. Thanks for sharing!
  16. Hey there, Dirt Demon, the more pictures the merrier!! I would really love to see some of the details you have put in so far.
  17. Very, very nice!!
  18. First off, very nice model of what I think is a beautiful race car! I have built this model. I am going to guess that you had trouble with the decals that go on the rear wing.
  19. Very nice, Dann. Your photography really sets it off.
  20. Sorry, Craig, I don't have any pictures. It was very cramped in the display area. That is a good problem for the club to have. I was happy to hear that it was their largest show to date. I wonder if they could move the contest display area down to where the round tables sat? Again, good problem to have, a show still growing after 26 years! I wish the best to the members of C.A.R.B.S. for next year's show.
  21. Let me give a big "Thank You" to the C.A.R.B.S. members for putting on the show today. It was their 26th annual show and their largest one yet! They told us there were 339 models this year. It was my first time attending and I was fortunate enough to have a few models place, including a class win and Best of Show! I got to meet up with some modeling buddies and was able to meet some great builders. All-in-all, it was a great day.
  22. I am in Fairborn, OH. Due to the length of the drive, my wife and I drove up tonight. I can sleep in tomorrow and still be at the show when the doors open. It is my first time attending and I am looking forward to it!
  23. Mark, click on the link in the first post. It takes you to the show flyer.
