  1. I use a lot of different blacks and silvers, (really more "metals"), when I build. It just makes your model more realistic. Without running down to the bench to verify MFR, I have one not on your list. Floquil Grimy black.
  2. Ooohhhh mmmyyyyy!!!!!
  3. Welcome to the forum! PE parts may be new to you but it looks like painting is something you have down to a science. Gorgeous! Pictures are very nice too.
  4. You Sir, have talent I'll never possess. I admire guys like you that can do things like this. Sigh.
  5. I'm not sure that I've ever seen one of these before, (model car and model mfr.) It is nice to see something out of the ordinary. It looks like you did a beautiful job on this kit.
  6. Another very nice F1 from your model bench, Paul. You do such clean and precise work. Excellent!
  7. Paul, very nice work on an iconic F1. Just a fantastic looking model.
  8. Great looking model, Curt! I have the kit and it does look like a nice, easy to build kit. It will be a good model to build as a slump buster or as a fun one between more complicated builds.
  9. Harry, I have to agree with Slusher. I am really, badly, wanting the MFH 1:12 Eagle Gurney Weslake. But man, that price tag is hard to take. I know me. I will not buy it and regret it every time I see it. And every time I see it, I'll kick myself and call myself bad names. Don't be like me, Harry. Buy the model.
  10. Thanks guys! I hope you read the introduction that is posted before the pictures. I didn't always have such a nice hobby room. One thing that I am proud of is the fact that I built the room myself. I put a lot of time in planning and building that room. I have really enjoyed it. Easy to heat in the winter and stays cool in the summer.
  11. This is very cool, James! You don't see these too often. You did a great job with all of those decals! I'm glad you finished your "24 hour" build.
  12. As a couple of others have said, I'm not really in to rat rods, but I am in to nice models. This one really has a coolness factor that is off the charts! I can appreciate all of the work you have put into this model. I would love to see a few more pictures from different angles.
  13. Very nice, Ghost. Is this a replica of an actual car?

    TV Batmobile

Count me in with the crowd who thinks that this is the best Batmobile. It has always been my favorite. As with all of your models Lloyd, another beauty. Nicely done!
  15. Although the subject matter is not my cup of tea, as they say, I do like well built models, and these two are very well built models! Great paint, great trim work and nice job on the panel lines.
  16. Very nice Jag! This is one of those cars that I'm not sure why I like it, I just do.
  17. Rider, you are posting some great models! How cool is this Porsche! Love the weathering on this. I really like the Jagermeister livery. Nice job on a cool model.
  18. Jonathan, you will always get those "good job" comments from me. You are a prolific builder and I really enjoy seeing the wide variety of subjects you build. It doesn't hurt that you do nice clean work!
  19. (Sorry guys, it looks like I screwed up the multiple quote feature. I'm not retyping all of this.)It looks like Harry and Richard have summed up my feelings on this subject. I think the intent of the "letter" was a commentary on poor losers. The thread immediately took a turn to the negative about competing in general. I see nothing wrong with model contests, competing and hoping your entry places or wins. I very seriously doubt that out of 100 entrants at a model contest, 95 of them do not care if they place or win. The point of the "letter" was to point out the poor losers at any contest. When I drive several hours to a model contest, I have several things I would like to do at the contest. I would like to pick up a few models and supplies, I would like to catch up with my modeling buddies and shoot the breeze and at the end of the day, I would like to have my name called when the awards are given. I'm not sure when that became taboo. I like placing and/or winning. I always have. I probably always will. If I don't place or win, do I have a meltdown? Nope. I go out of my way to congratulate the people who did place or win. Am I disappointed? More often than not. However, I get just as happy to see my buddies do well. I have been beat by friends and am genuinely happy for them. Although I understand the basic gist of when folks say "I build for myself and not others, I don't need their approval", I don't fully understand it. Would it be safe to say that when they finish a model they do not show it to others? Do they not share their models on various boards? Because if they do, (and this is only an assumption), they are looking for, at the very least, a positive comment. I have never met a person who did not appreciate a compliment from others. I get that not everyone feels the need to win, win, win or get 1000 attaboys on their model posts, but why the need to put down the people who do like to compete and win?, (poor losers, tantrum throwers, pissers & moaners aside).
  20. That is one tough looking Camaro! Engine looks great!!
  21. Man, Rider, I am really liking the models you are posting. I have a particular liking of 1:12 F1 models. I don't have this one. Is it OOB or did you add things to it?
  22. I remember loving the box art of this kit. I still get a kick out of this kit. It looks like yours came out very nice. It is just too cool!!
  23. I never get tired of seeing your great models, OC! Keep on sharing them.
  24. Beautiful! You are doing a great job!
  25. Wow, Tim, this looks fantastic!! I'll be watching the progress on this one for sure.
