  1. Now that is some eye candy!
  2. When I first saw this, I was on my cell phone. I had to fire up the laptop just so I could see bigger pictures! My first car, many years ago, was an Olds Cutlass, so I have a special spot in my heart for this body style. What a great model! As Dan Tier said a few post above, I just keep on looking at this one. Thanks for sharing.

Wow! That is just beautiful! I would love to see more pictures of this. What a great color.
  4. Snake is right, do not just add black into the panel lines, especially on a lighter colored car, it will be too stark. In my opinion, I have seen some very nice, straight panel lines that had black added to them and it actually detracted from the model. There are several different ways of doing it. I had had good results "pre-shading", (to borrow a phrase from our military modeling brothers). I add the black on top of the primer before shooting color coats. As always, practice on a spare body if you can. Good luck!
  5. That is a great looking model, Carl. Nice job and nice save!
  6. What an outstanding model! Nice, clear pictures are great too.
  7. David, I think you're getting this model building thing down...... Another very nice NASCAR model from your workbench.
  8. I can't even begin to pretend to know how you feel or what is running through your mind right now. I hope they have caught it in its earliest stages. There are so many people pulling for you, sending positive thoughts and prayers your way. It will be good to see you when you are a proud member of the cancer survivors club! Go kick some cancer ass, Harry!!!
  9. Very, very impressive! I'll be following this one for sure.
  10. What a great looking model of a pretty cool car! Nice clear photos too. I'm glad to see that it is a nice model to build. I have all of these kits. I really need to break one out and give it a go.
  11. The hood fit of this kit brings up an interesting point that I have mentioned in other threads. Harry, I know you do not compete but your models are definitely contest worthy and no doubt contest winners. I would bet money that if you were to put this model on a contest table, spectators as well as judges, would say "what a nice model, too bad the hood does not fit right". But the fact is the hood on the prototype didn't fit right either. My point is, older race cars are seldom pristine racing machines and if you build a correct replica, you are more than likely going to get dinged in a model contest. I have actually placed a picture of the real race car's "wart" next to my model so that the judges could see that my model was built to replicate the real car.
  12. I have really enjoyed following this WIP! Great stuff in every update. Thanks for sharing it with us.

I must say, that is one clean looking model!! Wow! Nice job, Thomas.
  14. She looks good naked! Very nice Cobra, Ray. Very nice indeed!
  15. Geesh, how did I not comment on this one?? Great looking model! Looks good from every angle!
  16. Another very nice model of, in my opinion, a great looking NASCAR racer. I liked Mike Skinner and hoped he would do well. Never really did in the top series. He did better in the truck series, if I remember correctly.
  17. By all means, do a detailed WIP thread. There are a number of guys here who do a great job with their WIPs. I like to follow the WIPs as I can learn from them. My suggestions are these: take clear pictures and explain what you are doing and how you are doing it. Something that may be routine to you may be totally new to someone else. I look forward to seeing your work.
  18. GREAT looking F1, Benito! You did a super job on this.
  19. I think it looks great, David! Nice job!
  20. Very nice, Neil!! What a great looking model. I've built this one for a friend and hated giving it to him, it builds up so nice. I remember that I cut the long body side decals into two or three separate pieces. Did you do anything like that? Were you able to do them as one piece?
  21. This is such a good looking Chevelle. Great work all around! I really like the blue and it looks like you laid it down perfectly.
  22. I really like the reflection in the paint on the first picture. It shows off that terrific paint job! Nice GTO!
  23. Great looking Mopar, Michael. Nice job on the paint, interior and engine! Also nice work on all of the little details!
  24. Holy cats!! Love the floorboards! Not to get off-topic, but this is something that model builders and contest judges need to understand. Real, raced, race cars, especially as you go back in time, more often than not, are not these super spotless show machines. They have all sorts of warts and blemishes on and in them. Not all the body panels are precisely lined up. The paint was not miles deep and ultra glossy. I could go on and on but you get my point. Do not try to build an accurate replica or people will think you are a terrible modeler.

Thanks for the comments, guys! Yes, they are fun to drive. Plenty of speed and mine handles like a dream. My Z is a 2006 and what makes it a head turner is the paint. It is called Interlagos Fire. It is a Nissan factory paint that is color changing. Not a pearl but a true chameleon or flip-flop paint. You can find plenty of pictures and videos on the internet of this car.
